Interestingly, it sounds like it is Andretti (TWG) who are pushing for this - not just Herta’s personal team. If Herta does a season of F2 in 2026, he could then step up into a Cadillac seat for 2027.

So they think it’s not worth it having the drivers do sim in a car design that will become obsolete within a short time because of continued development and rule adjustments? Fair assessment, I guess, but weird in that all the other teams seem to come to a different conclusion

Checo was definitely done dirty, but IMO he genuinely had a few stints of poor performances in his time there. At the same time he was a good number 2 in other stints.
