Friendly reminder: this is why we need to make the establishment pay in every single primary without exception, or there will never be any serious resistance to fascism from politicians.

The neoliberal ghouls see a police incited riot as an equivalent fault of the left as brown people being disappeared by the gestapo on the right. They only care about civility and the perception of normality, which is why they caved and reopened the government. Continuing the shutdown put more strain on their illusion of civility than millions of Americans losing their healthcare. This is who they’ve always been and always will be.

They are not positioning for resistance, but to take over the right and the state after Trump burns his movement out. They believe they can be a single uncontested party by using the threat of fascism to keep the progressives in line. All the while they’ll do exactly half the oppression as the Nazis and claim that’s good enough. They’ll deregulate and privatize until there isn’t a worker protection remaining. They’ll say trans existence was always a dangerous ideology and gay people better behave or they’ll be next. They’ll follow Trump’s lead on foreign policy and do imperialism down the barrel of a gun.

We need to build an independent left or we’ll all be trapped under a 1 party neofeudal state until the fascists take power and drag us further into misery.
