      ‘me chip’ isn’t correct either

      ‘simple as’… simple as what?

they’re not going for correct grammar, they’re phonetically spelling the accent and slang

It is my understanding that it is common in NZ/AUS to leave the “that” out which is implied.

        It’s from an English dialect.

To expand further the implication is that the whole proposition is simple and ‘Simple As’ is the end of the conversation, much like ‘End of’ which likewise suggests that no further analysis is needed.

Having known a few Aussies, I have never heard them leave out “that”. It fits in though with some of the other oddities in dialect they have.

How the fuck are you going to define someone by a pension? Seems like a lot of assumptions and prejudice goin in that definition. Is Pension like a town or something too?

My understanding is that it’s a British term for retiree. Basically just means elderly

I know some safety nets are better than none (and that this is a meme thread I’m dragging down), but don’t fool yourself - millions of older people in the UK go hungry and cold because they can’t afford the basics.

Still completely irrelevant to the story though (but that’s to be expected in tabloid territory).

Same in Sweden/norway. Pensionär/pensjonist are synonyms for retiree.
