Two-fold problem: a) give the consumer freedom of choice b) make it difficult enough to successfully set it up once, and then stay locked in
That’s both by accident (provide freedom choice) and by design (lock them as long as possibile).

Really. Japanese society has a lot of issues on its own, but there’s also a lot to learn from them.

Coincidentally I discovered kwriteconfig by myself yesterday - but not the interaction with qdbus.

Fedora KDE.
I was happily using Windows 10 until a few months ago, but needed to build a new PC. I got a glimpse of Windows 11 on a friend’s laptop and didn’t like it. So I asked my Linux-friend which distribution he would recommend to someone who wants to try Linux, but doesn’t want to stray too far away from the windows look and feel.
Yes and no. Jugglers do benefit from getting very consistently thrown objects. However they still need to make small adjustments every time. On very limited information in this case.
I also remember an experiment with professional football (soccer) players, where balls would be shot towards them and the lights would be switched off while the ball was in the air. The rate at which they were able to position themselves and kick the ball back in complete darkness was pretty impressive.

If people would want him released, they’d have to vote for a candidate who promises to do that. Just being a promising candidate isn’t a reason not to be prosecuted. There is simply no law for that.
The justice system is being intimidated by an angry mob into waiting out the situation. This is against everything what the justice system is supposed to do.
It’s not the will of “the people”, it’s the will of a minority. He HAS been voted out. Courts should indeed be more powerful than that.

By that argument any criminal ever could argue against prosecution because they intend to run for a public office. Ridiculous exaggeration of course, but if Trump gets this chance, everyone else should too.
Forgot the bite force of Russian trolls and Chinese paid actors on any topic remotely concerning Ukraine or Chinese politics, and how the west is actually the bad guys.
Unlimited bite force.
AAA@feddit.orgto politics @lemmy.world•Obama says Trump ‘ignored’ pandemic playbook he gave to him14·9 months agoThe real question is: if Obama gave Trump an obviously terrible plan, with the goal to let as many people die as possible, would Trump have gone out of his way to save each and everyone - simply out of spite for Obama?
Of course he wouldn’t have, but I like the idea.
The same people couldn’t wear a face mask to save the lives of their relatives.
