Me too. So far I’m a few hours in and it’s very good.
I’ll admit I’m very pessimistic they will continue the upwards trend but with the remakes/reboots/sequels due (hopefully) later this year I hope they do.
Wargroove is very good.
DK64 for me too. I played the shit out of it for probably a solid 6 months to a year and loved it but it has no doubt aged badly.
I really like my Series S but having a few games be X exclusive would be fine. It’s definitely holding the X back at this point.
Yuri from Command and Conquer
Rewind is a common feature nowadays. I’m not that knowledgeable with the Switch either but it looks more like snapshot/save states anyway and not an actual rewind.
Rewind and CRT filter only for Switch 2 is such bullshit…
Not managed to make much time this week but did sit down for a couple hours with TT Isle of Man: ROTE2 and there is something very satisfying about racing motorbikes.
I say mechanics but it’s essential just the UI I don’t like and that there is no weight to the character movement.
RDR2 was on my Xbox One S at 1440p and it did look bad but if you have a PS5 you’ll do just fine.
I take back some of what I thought of RDR2. I decided to buy the digital version so I can play it on the Xbox Series S, also sitting further back now on the sofa, and it looks so much better. It isn’t fully upgraded for current gen but has some graphics improvements that really help.
Regarding Clair Obscur: E33 I’ve played a couple hours now and the story/world are nice and interesting but the controls and mechanics could be better.
I had the urge to play Red Dead Redemption 2 (haven’t played it since the Xbox release so probably 6 years ago) but my god it is a blurry mess. I don’t mind playing old games but the amount of blur is just ridiculous.
I moved on to GTA V and it plays very well but I just find the whole thing very cringe so stopped playing that too.
I going to give Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 a go later instead as I hear good things.
Did play some Octodad with my youngest daughter earlier. It’s so funny watching her but she gets annoyed and thinks I’m laughing at her and not the gameplay so had to stop. We’ll do it again though.
I plan to continue with God of War (PS4).
For a game that is rated 18+ I’ve not actually had many moments where I’ve had to stop my kids (10+) from watching me play and they have been enjoying it with me. I’m normally quite careful but the main gameplay is just fighting creatures and puzzle solving so it’s just the boss fights that give it a higher rating, well so far that’s what it seems.
The story and characters are excellent and the dynamic of Kratos and Atreus is something special. Also it’s a really good looking game and much better than the current gens “blurriness” that everything seems to have nowadays
Rise of The Tomb Raider is probably the best of the new trilogy. I have a fondness for games with snow and, like you said, it plays very well.
Also makes for beautiful screenshots,
I haven’t been excited for a game (DS2) in a long long time. If only I could afford and justify buying a PS5 though :/
I randomly started playing Death Stranding again. I’ve finished it before a few years ago and it’s a great game but playing it now on hard difficulty with no assists items or lethal weapons makes it more survival like and it is even better.
Not had a chance yet but I’ll give a quick update when I do.
I received the Tomb Raider Trilogy remake for Christmas so will start that this weekend. I’ve not played them since original release so should be interesting fun.
That’s probably mostly true but optimisation is becoming a lost art from that some devs just don’t know.
