While I recognise some of this dysfunction in my life, I think it is possible to avoid the worst excesses. I have a workshop and a tool fetish, which can be expensive but most of my tools have paid for themselves several times over considering the money saved doing things for myself.
We have bad impulse control but we’re also good at improvising, it’s not all bad. I don’t actually care that much about having an attention deficit, I just want to be treated compassionately, the way I treat other people.
Cultivating a good working routine is fulfilling but it’s a long road and we should not criticise people who struggle with this. When I hear people railing against authority figures it makes me cringe because it’s a sign that they’ve been mistreated (oppositionally defiant disorder).

Well said. Anarchism has received horrible press at the hands of Big Democracy but many of our current problems are rooted in the concentration of power, money and influence that capitalist societies seem to produce. On the other hand, can we live without the many products and technology that require large scale effort? It feels like that would be a major challenge for any fledgling anarchic society.

Those are some nice slip-ons
Bill went bad. He was okay until we found out what he really believes.
He campaigned explicitly on a platform of change and then proceeded to install a cast of deeply entrenched establishment figures to shore up the establishment at the expense of common people. Classic switcheroo.
What’s up guys, my name’s Cory and today I’m gonna show you how to waste a bunch of time in the senate but before I do that, a word from my sponsors.
Unbelievable arrogance. None of these people have any idea how these weapons work but they want their grubby little fingers on the button.
Violent hegemony is the solution to every problem because when all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.
We saw it and thought ‘we should invent a process that prevents us from falling prey to the naturalistic fallacy’.
This tool should be happy he is a vice president, holy fuck. He is already a contender for least qualified VP in history. I would keep my head down and aim for a defence consultation contract or lobbyist position in four years.
According to Bryson’s account, he deliberately mislead us about the dangers of tetraethyl lead by making a public demonstration of washing his hands in the chemical. As a chemical engineer he knew a single exposure was not sufficient to cause the lead poisoning that was evident in the workforce at his factory and was counting on a scientifically illiterate public not understanding how toxicity operates in organisms. He was correct on both counts and we can never let the profit motive enter these type of calculations e.g. money in healthcare, oil companies publishing climate science, etc, and expect healthy outcomes.
That’s the spirit!
Holy shit you guys are proper fucked. America went full retard
What is this tree technology you speak of
‘Florida termite’ could be the start of many a great news story, followed by a mugshot of the disheveled and remorseful arthropod.
