All you need is a square of paper and some patience.
I’ll write something here later probably. In the meantime, hi to whoever’s reading this I hope you get a chance to enjoy something kind today :)

Bring back public broadcasting on both a federal and state/city level.
Fund the aggressive development of walkable greenspace, boost public transit and put measures in place to keep it un-gentrified.
Set up a public fund for trans folks of all ages to get appropriate gender-affirming care (medical, clothing, etc) and cover legal fees.
Make sure no kid ever has to pay for a decent school meal ever again.
And once those and any other QoL ideas I get are done; game and bake like nobody’s business lol. And set up a full blown home lab, and pick up VR again.
The Moonday Letters touches upon some of this in an interesting way.
Not exactly cyberpunk but very much with the bitter taste of lingering capitalism.
Deepfake of Peter Thiel saying trans rights are human rights and brown people are people/shouldn’t be genocided (see: Palestine). Hell, make it a Brady bunch/we-are-the-world type of video collection.
Throw in some “we should also tax all billionaires” and it might work.
Deus Ex (first one)
Cult of the Lamb
Night in the Woods soundtrack got me through recovery after having my appendix out. 10/10
Between +2 and +4 depending on the day.
I enjoy tech, and tinkering, and like the other user here very much enjoy FOSS stuff.
Anything non-self-hosted IoT, or non-local AI* models, or anything else privacy invading gets a big ol -10.
Being in IT though I do regularly keep a hammer nearby to remind my devices not to step out of line.
* Also AI being used to “replace” real human work is bogus. I only use self-hosted AI and only as a toy and anything that comes out of it is not my work nor does it get shared anywhere. Pay and hire real people for serious things.

100% this kid is getting just as fucked over as the rest of us, and because he’s young the corpos have a smidge more time to do so before he gets pissed off too.
I admit I skimmed your account and maybe “pretend” isn’t quite the right word for what you’re saying?
Putting yourself in the mindset of “maybe I am” and unmasking, and that feels authentic, seems to be my understanding of what you’ve written in context.
But this is above Lemmy’s paygrade. Unfortunately the only way to be 100% sure is to get a diagnosis, which can be very difficult financially/logistically.
Even if you are or aren’t autistic, if you do find that coping behaviors, interests etc. that are often associated with the autistic community work for you and make you feel like yourself then I personally would say that’s okay.
The human brain is a weird thing and neurotypes are all over the place. Being ND isn’t just autism so you may find kinship with other communities too. Keep an open mind.
The weird part is apparently Canada got hit by this as well.
I’d be curious what those “market conditions” are that screw over our northern neighbors too 🤔
Oh this reminds of that glorious yaoi breakdown on YouTube let me see if I can find it again
EDIT: FOUND IT
Woohoo! Congrats 😄 /gen
Fingers crossed you get the day off /gen
Enjoying some positives this week - finally getting over some bug I’ve had since Sunday, working on renewing one of my work certs and ordered a new game controller coming in the mail sometime next week.
I’m excited to have a dedicated controller for PC/emulators since I lost my Steam Controller dongle years ago and it’s a pain to pair my JoyCons regularly (first-world problem I’m grateful to have).
My head is still spinning from it being August already. That might just be part of getting older, though.
What do you plan to do today if you end up having it free? (If you feel comfortable sharing, of course)
Echoing the other user; I just worked on a data recovery job with your symptoms near identical. Back up your important files while you still have them and get new ones ASAP; preferably some form of SSD.
This is hardware failure, not driver error. Your files will start to corrupt if you wait too long.
I’ve answered this before, but -
I would sneeze or cough, and my oldest would act horribly offended and yell at me. Or she’d come up and demand attention because she’s 8 pounds of fluffy Velcro.
My second oldest would be the one cat to act offended at a bowl of wet food.
My boy would come running at the sound of a yogurt container opening or a whipped cream can being used.
My youngest girl would be the one to make eye contact with me and bolt away. She’d also be looking for her momma (my second oldest).
“But master! That would be a waste of my genius programming!”
Decoration is sacred, and as such it is important to adorn your mortal home accordingly (ie, however it makes you happy).
Life is messy and beautiful. Imposing drabness onto others is an affront to nature.
Probably easier to relax when your brain shuts up
