BubblyMango@lemmy.wtfto Technology@beehaw.org•I totally forgot how terrible a non-ad-free YouTube experience is4·2 years agoExactly. With youtube’s shitty tutorial search functions ever since they removed dislikes, i kinda need to see the start of the video to know if its even relevant. But no. Full on 2-3 pre-video ads.
BubblyMango@lemmy.wtfto Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•I’m sorry, but I cannot help you with finding pirated movies. Piracy is illegal and unethical 😉English302·2 years agoI personally only pirate indie games to make sure only triple A titles are profitable.
Is it possible to learn this power?
BubblyMango@lemmy.wtfto World News@lemmy.ml•It’s Definitive – The Gulf Stream Is Weakening15·2 years agoIts just a simple example of cause and effect. I am not denying climate change, i just saw no explanation in the article about which parts of climate change diectly contributed to this, which felt very missing considering its in the abstract. This is all i am saying.
Your explanation is true, but i just wanted the details.
BubblyMango@lemmy.wtfto World News@lemmy.ml•It’s Definitive – The Gulf Stream Is Weakening27·2 years agoProbably does - but it was disappointing the article did not give any expert’s explanation on the matter. Why is it so wrong to state that those details are missing from the article?
BubblyMango@lemmy.wtfto World News@lemmy.ml•It’s Definitive – The Gulf Stream Is Weakening110·2 years agoA phenomenon that causes climate change is not necessarily caused by climate change. If i burn a forest down it would increase climate change, but the cause is me burning down a forest.
BubblyMango@lemmy.wtfto World News@lemmy.ml•It’s Definitive – The Gulf Stream Is Weakening110·2 years agoNo its not. And im not denying climate change or anything.
This is a phenomenon that increases climate change, but i saw nothing in the article suggesting this slowdown of the stream was caused by climate change.
For example, if i start a forest fire and a ton of trees are burned, this will increase climate change, but this theoretical forest fire wouldnt have been caused BY climate change - it would have been caused by me.
The abstract strongly suggests “climate change is likely responsible”, but i saw nothing in the article supporting that. Maybe i just missed it, but i was quite disappointed.

BubblyMango@lemmy.wtfto Memes@lemmy.ml•A moment of appreciation for a man who is undoubtedly the world's most successful promoter of Lemmy and the fediverse52·2 years agoAfter seeing his face I’d rather use a different terminology.
Wont it be able to take screenshots of my desktop and such?

Im not exactly against capitalism, but i do think that a hardcore capitalistic aproach such as the one in the US has many downsides.
Please try not to throw insults or mean assumptions. We are here to discuss.
Moatly about capitalism i think. If you put on privacy restrictions, you are regulating the market, while capitalism believes that the market should regulate itself, and customers will simply stop using those websites/softwares overtime if its too bad. I find this completely delusional in the era of mega corporations, but thats the capitalistic aproach to this.

BubblyMango@lemmy.wtfto Free and Open Source Software@beehaw.org•What was your gateway product to open source?6·2 years agoNot my first libre product, but definitely the one that got me into searching for libre alternatives - OpenOffice. Despite not being great at the time (or ever), i was amazed by how complicated microsoft turned 365Office into. I suddenly had to buy subscriptions to all of the office products for outrages prices just so that i can have a simple words editors? Screw that, i googled for “open source office software” and never came back to m$Office.
BubblyMango@lemmy.wtftoPolitics@lemmy.ml•The Fox GOP debate melted down when the word “climate” was mentioned1·2 years agoAll depends on how you implement said system.
I dont actually feel the need for such a system though. It was just a way of complimenting a great comment.
How can an android app get all the info about me if it has no permissions?
