It is shorthand for “number”. N°6 is read as “Number Six”.

They know it’s not 89°. They are messing with the perfectionists and a bunch of you took the bait.

Chunk@lemmy.worldto Memes@lemmy.ml•If you only criticize civilian casualties when Palestine resists, then your concern isn't civilian casualties. Your concern is Palestine resisting massacre.2614·2 years agoThis meme is dank and if you don’t like politics that’s totally fine but you don’t get to dictate to others what this community is about.
This is probably the third meme in two days where the top comment says it’s not a meme.
Chunk@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Microsoft published a guide on how to install Linux.57·2 years agoI have one dream for Linux. I’m a huge OSS fan and I want to see it thrive.
I think Microsoft should partner with Oracle to make Oracle Linux 9 support all the Microsoft ecosystem. I want AD in Linux. I want Microsoft Word on Linux. Oracle Linux 9 is the obvious successor to RHEL and Microsoft has an opportunity here to build something great.
Lmao just kidding
Windows OS is one of the biggest misses in the company’s history. The money lost on Zune pales in comparison to the missed opportunities of making NT the go-to dev platform.
People like Mac OS better. The most popular user OS in the world is Android. Cloud is Linux. Microsoft knows they have to play nice because they are so far behind there’s no point in competing how they used to.

Nah. Rip that shit right out of the chassis. Destroy that RJ45 port. Make it so the security audit team has to resolder a jack to the mobo before they can even ssh to the box.
Trust me I run a security company. If you need help with your security please feel free to contact me! We are the best in the business!
Chunk@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Most of us hate Microsoft, and yet many of us use VSCode51·2 years agoDo you think Microsoft removed features from their language because they hate Linux? Or do you think maybe the way syscalls and the filesystem work are different in Linux and that makes hot reload a bit of an engineering problem?
We can never know, but I’m guessing Microsoft didn’t port their language to Linux just to shoot themselves in the foot. On the other hand, it is Microsoft.
Chunk@lemmy.worldto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Amazon Anti Union propagandaEnglish1041·2 years agoBoss: kids your age are so incredibly arrogant. You think you deserve the world.
Me: we are the same age.
Boss: huh
This actually happened.
I don’t understand why everyone at corporate Amazon is fine with this. I am a white collar corporate sell out asshole and I support unions 100% of the time, full stop.
He’s commenting on your misspelling. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ephemeral
You use vi because you are lazy.
I used vi because I am too stupid to close it.
We are not the same.
Launchpad! And generally the “GSE” (ground support equipment, like fluids and pipes), mission control, electrical and network infrastructure, etc.
The workers are generally technicians, not engineers, and they are both hilarious and excellent.
It’s funny because the ADHD subreddit is memes and upvotes and people talking about how ADHD hurts their performance at work.
The bipolar subreddit is people who want to kill themselves. People who are homeless. People who are broken, have lost their spouses, jobs, lives.
And ADHD gets so much sympathy. It’s a mental illness that’s so socially acceptable that people talk about it at work. Compare and contrast that to bipolar where you carry a stigma wherever you go. It’s nuts.
This entire weird conversation aside, Palestine/Israel conflict does not currently affect the West. It could hypothetically escalate until it affected the West I suppose.
Also, Israel is not in NATO. They are a “NATO partner” but are not legally tied to the security alliance.
That’s a very interesting idea.
Quick question, you say 80% of the carbon is stored in the root and that you can harvest hemp 4 times a year. Do you harvest the roots when you harvest it? Or are you only harvesting 20% of the total captured carbon on each harvest?
