Thanks! And I agree, I really hope this spinoff shoots their shot at something fresh and new.
I might pick it up actually! My favorite competitive games are all objective based (Battlefield Conquest, the Finals, etc). So knowing that the objective isn’t kills is good to hear. Are there other objective based game modes?
Alright, as someone who has never played any Splatoon games, I had always been somewhat interested in it. I just don’t play competitive games much so I just never got around to it. I do love a good single player though! So very excited to hear about Splatoon Raiders.
For those who have played Splatoon 3, how is it’s single player mode? And if I were to jump in now, do you think I’d get curb stomped by Splatoon diehards in multiplayer? Also, I love coop modes, so salmon run looks like a lot of fun also.
Yeah, it’s less of a rumor/leak and more of an open question that Nintendo has yet to address. Either way, the bigger screen will be fantastic
There are some discussions online about whether or not the Switch 2 will support switch 1 games in their docked profile but in handheld mode. For example, Metroid Prime runs on 1080p60 docked and 720p60 in handheld on Switch 1. On Switch 2, people are wondering if in handheld Metroid Prime could run in 1080p60 or it will be limited to 720p60.
Nintendo has not confirmed this one way or another yet. It may even be the case that in handheld the S2 would upscale the 720p image to 1080p instead of running it in 1080p native. We will have to wait and see how it all works
Just started Metroid Prime. I was tempted to wait and see if you can play it in its docked mode while handheld with switch 2, but alas I saw it for $30 and had to grab it.
I don’t see this flopping. I don’t think it’ll be more successful than Switch 1, but every kid who loved switch 1 is now 8 years older. I think sales are going to be huge. I don’t disagree about prices of games being a concerning precedent, but honestly with silver, gold, deluxe editions and every game having battle passes we are already in a market with games costing more than $60-70. And most of those are incomplete garbage. At least with Nintendo you can expect a quality product for the most part (pokemon not included).
He’s probably looking forward to open world hangouts with friends. I’m looking forward to that also.
