I mean he was running against Dr. Oz. Didn’t take much to cheer for him. He also had some progressive stances at the time. Which he seems to have all but forgotten.
It is a left over system where hospitals were basically run by nuns and churches. Originally done in good faith as there wasn’t any other option, so nuns would double as nurses, staff, etc. That is basically how Mayo clinic started. It is outdated now but many of those hospitals combined to form CHI, Dignity… Some are huge systems.
Infinite get out of jail free card. Do felony, get a fall guy, pardon fall guy, rinse and repeat.
In all fairness he was up against an actual celebrity. He did a 180 pretty quick. Hopefully PA fixes this mistake, as he is not liberal anymore.
I’m athiest but deep down hope there is a hell. Just to see all those “christians” down there.
Well it is faster to burn a forest than grow one.

Brother in law had a huge wolf dog. The kind that can put it’s paws on your shoulders and look at you face to face. Massive. He got in a tussel with a badger and got tore up, took two weeks to heal. Then took off and came back with a 40 lbs badger in his mouth. Overall a 40 lbs meth badger = 150 lbs wolf dog.
Nearly 4 out of 5 that progress to biopsy are benign. Nearly 4 times that are called for additional evaluation. The false positives are quite high compared to other imaging. It is designed that way, to decrease the chances of a false negative.
Breast imaging already relys on a high false positive rate. False positives are way better than false negatives in this case.
True a lot of science is done in industry and the corporate world and not published to keep it a trade secret. It is still science but not shared.
That comes to about $17500 today using an inflation calculator.
There are two sides, but you can alter that a bit if you get your asses to the primaries.
No, ACA has rules for breast screening coverage. If it was a screening mammo and USlike this. If it was done to someone under 40 or not high risk it would not be a screening exam. If it was a diagnostic exam that is completely different. It would be covered under the general policy with copay/maximums etc. Screenings and diagnostic mammograms/US are different and not covered under preventive medicine.
I have never seen charges like this for breast imaging under insurance before. Something is wrong, either billing or the insurance. The only way I can see this if the imaging was ordered without a proper reason…but likely not.
There really no defense to this, no confusion. This is murder, a war crime.
It’s the patent term, not a descriptive term. It is a perfectly viable term as it is the one used for more than 100 years.
