People at work cannot fathom my “Do all the things at once and rarely fuck up” methodology. Because as my brain pingpongs around all the microtasks involved in the macrotasks I just do it then and then do the next one.

20 something volume space opera?
Battletech or Ex-Force?
Audiobooks baby. Nothing too dense and full of symbolism. Good pulpy scifi works best for me.
When our house is filthy I tell my wife to gtfo and I overcaffinate and just “stream of consciousness” that bitch. I will hyperactively flit from room to room taking care of a small percentage of one of the hundreds of little jobs that compromise cleaning the house. The moment I get bored or the shits about one task I just wander off and find another to chip away at. Give me 6 hours and its a new house.
Drives my OCD wife utterly mad, because it takes her 6 hours to find the right size containers for the linen press, drive to 3 shops to get enough, then decide on a font for the labels she is going to make on her cricut, print the labels and get them on the tubs and I get home to the hallway full of linen and what I’m sure one day will be a perfectly organised linen press.

Nature… ummm… finds a way.
Not to be a killjoy but your basic mailman has a pretty low weight limit on the parcels they take.
Creatine is LITERALLY the only supplement that almost everyone and every study agrees.
- Has a measurable physiological effect.
- Has next to zero side effects.
- Is incredibly cheap.
- Is universally beneficial for anyone training in almost every sport/activity.
Anything else the answer to “Should I take…” is at best “It depends” and in most cases “No”. Its the only one if people arent taking it I’d ask “Why not?”

My favorite stupid unit of measurement is “A gram of protein per cm of height” for protein intake for very overweight people who have no idea what their lean body mass is or should be.
It sounds ridiculous but for 90% of people it puts you within 10% of correct and usually errs on the high side.
BCAA’s are essentially bullshit 99% of the time because if you’re getting adequate complete high quality proteins from food (including whey or quality plant protein shakes) they contain all the amino acids your body can use.
Honestly, the flavor is all down to the brand. But water just gets boring as shit if you’re drinking a lot.
Fundamentally you’re right. If you get absolutely everything 100% scientifically perfect for you, your circumstances, your genetics, etc you will always see better results than the person eyeballing it. But its like 200% more effort for an extra 25% gains, the minutiae of this shit goes as deep as you care to look and thats what drowns a lot of new enthusiasts.
Sometimes I buy a jar of those not because I want to supplement my aminos, just because plain water gets fucking boring.
Its a pretty common unit when it comes to discussing dietary protein around bodybuilding and fitness because 1g per lb is a super easy conversion for people to remember. Its kind of the golden number because even for people not getting the best sources of protein 1g per lb almost guarantees anyone other than edge cases and steroid users are getting more than enough to support optimum growth and recovery.
You know what my tombstone is going to say?
“I love a good terrible idea.”
Thats the thing. If a customer forgot to mask off an alarm panel or two not taking the 5 minutes to do it just makes you look like a fucking asshole. If they didnt mask off a bunch of stuff then you call them, tell them that either you need to add to the estimate or rebook the job.
This is also why I own 2 shitbox cars.
I’m a good amateur mechanic. But I cant guarantee I wont order the wrong part, be sent the wrong part, have misdiagnosed the problem, the job turns out to be a nightmare etc… So as long as the other one is running, I have time and ability to sort it out.

The combination of 4x108, made in england and that retaining bolt gave me hope they were off some variety of UK Ford but so far I’ve pulled up zip.
Mechwarrior online.
Free, online “shooter”, good community, runs on linux, gameplay is dated and doesnt get tons of dev support anymore but its still how I kill an evening once or twice a week.
