I love tofu bulgogi, and this looks great! I’ve done this a lot with extra firm, myself. How did it turn out with 'firm?
I think I’ve found my niche…and it’s so very specific

Doublepluskirk@lemmy.worldOPto Vegan Home Cooks@lemmy.world•not-cottage pie? gardners pie? I dunno3·1 year agoSame. It’s a favourite from when I was a kid and it’s so easy to veganise
Doublepluskirk@lemmy.worldOPto Vegan Home Cooks@lemmy.world•not-cottage pie? gardners pie? I dunno2·1 year agoOh absolutely. I was willfully making this quite decadent as it was to share and I wanted to impress. My favourite ‘mince’ substitute is actually a mix of brown lentils, walnuts, and mushrooms

Doublepluskirk@lemmy.worldOPto Vegan Home Cooks@lemmy.world•Tantanmen with mock duck, mushrooms, peas, and edamame1·1 year agoThanks. I bulk buy noodle nests, so I end up eating a lot of ramen and stir fry
Doublepluskirk@lemmy.worldOPto Vegan Home Cooks@lemmy.world•Tantanmen with mock duck, mushrooms, peas, and edamame2·1 year agoThanks. Me too. It’s certainly a guilty pleasure lol
Doublepluskirk@lemmy.worldOPto Vegan Home Cooks@lemmy.world•Tantanmen with mock duck, mushrooms, peas, and edamame7·1 year agoThanks! I’m happy to say it was. I do like ramen during the week. It’s quick and doesn’t make a load of washing up
Hot damn, that looks delicious! Love a curry
Doublepluskirk@lemmy.worldOPto Vegan Home Cooks@lemmy.world•Chana Masala practically obscured by coriander and red onion2·1 year agoI like it spicier than the recipes say, but it won’t blow your head off
Doublepluskirk@lemmy.worldOPto Vegan Home Cooks@lemmy.world•Chana Masala practically obscured by coriander and red onion2·1 year agoYeah, everything I’ve done from this book is excellent. She’s been putting up all these one pan baked versions, that, whilst not the same, are still delicious and soo easy
Doublepluskirk@lemmy.worldOPto Vegan Home Cooks@lemmy.world•Chana Masala practically obscured by coriander and red onion3·1 year agoIt’s a recipe from Vegan Richa’s Indian Kitchen cookbook . She has a youtube channel and her website has similar recipes.
Doublepluskirk@lemmy.worldOPto Vegan Home Cooks@lemmy.world•Chana Masala practically obscured by coriander and red onion3·1 year agoThanks. It was, but I’m greedy and i never make enough
Doublepluskirk@lemmy.worldOPto Vegan Home Cooks@lemmy.world•Chana Masala practically obscured by coriander and red onion3·1 year agoIt’s probably my favourite dish, and difference between eating it out here and making it at home is night and day
Doublepluskirk@lemmy.worldOPto Vegan Home Cooks@lemmy.world•Chana Masala practically obscured by coriander and red onion3·1 year agoThanks. I think I’m just lucky with where my counter and ceiling light are positioned
Doublepluskirk@lemmy.worldOPto Vegan Home Cooks@lemmy.world•Chana Masala practically obscured by coriander and red onion2·1 year agoWeird genetic quirks are like getting shafted by the mutant X gene. I have a photic sneeze reflex, which is the worst super power. Bright lights (Inc. the sun) make me sneeze… I’m still waiting for that acceptance letter Xavier
Doublepluskirk@lemmy.worldOPto Vegan Home Cooks@lemmy.world•Chana Masala practically obscured by coriander and red onion1·1 year agoGreat answer. It’s really easy to underestimate how long to cook down the onions and tomatoes to get the right flavour profile. I know it took me a while to get down.
One of my favourite names for anything is these being called ‘desire lines’. It’s so whimsical.
Pretty sure it’s one of the BBC nature documentaries narrated by David Attenborough
