It will be challenged and Trump is going to capitulate
How’s that blind faith working?

If you can look at how every single dem senator voted to confirm Rubio, and still not buy into the idea that the democrats are controlled opposition, I don’t know what to say to you.
Kirsten Gillibrand, one of the senators who stood with Schumer and folded as they voted for the republican spending bill, was literally the AOC of yesteryear. You can push populist candidates to your party of capital until the cows come home, but special interests will swallow them up every single time for eternity. You need to think beyond the democrats and American electoralism in general for that matter. The devolution into fascism is well underway. It’s time to abandon the democrats that helped achieve it.
Are you sure you aren’t describing America’s education system?
If you want to play with AI slop, maybe log off lemmy and start doing this on your own… Not a single source cited.
Could I leave my job at the factory to go to university?
Yes… as is evidenced by an entirely free education program.
If you’re making the claim that “factory workers of the USSR had no freedom to go to college”, then supply some evidence please. Stop beating around the bush.
Higher education was free in the USSR as stipulated by its constitution.
Soooo, was there “standing” to weaponize ICE and start deporting US citizens? Was there standing to weaponize the DOJ? Was there standing to cut funding for NPR and PBS? Was there standing to pardon all the Jan 6 rioters? Was there standing to cut all government programs via DOGE? I could go on and on.
Taking the stance of “well, Trump won’t be able to do this because it is illegal” is naive as hell given what we’ve seen in the past 100 days.
This utterly blind faith that the liberal institutions will somehow halt Trumpian fascism is exactly the same blunder as was made by liberals in early 30s Germany during Hitler’s meteoric rise.
Take a step back and realize the American political experiment is over. Given how it’s gone genocidal and incinerated the planet, we have a duty to dismantle it from within.
“American genocide is a forgone conclusion, so I will give full support to the genocidal regime whether the color is red or blue”
This is why people call you blue maga. There is no red line. There is no amount of evil that would make you all start to consider the legitimacy of the US empire. You all will sacrifice however many Palestinian kids it takes to bide time till the next election cycle. All under the guise of pragmatic utilitarianism.
You say “perfection”. What I think you meant to say was “principled anti capitalism”.
I’m not asking for perfection. I’m asking for literally any semblance of solidarity or anticapitalism.
Regardless, until a truly anti capitalist party gains power, the devolution into fascism will continue.
In 30 years, when the choice is between a dem who wants 15 genocides and a Republican who wants 16, yall will still be bleating this tired ass “perfection as an enemy of good” motto. Think of a new one, please. Or even try to start defining what your idea of “perfection” actually is.
This is blind faith.
Many of his wishes have come true in recent months. What makes you think this is impossible?

It is from this standpoint that the World Socialist Web Site has exposed the fraudulent “Fighting Oligarchy” campaign mounted by Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The large turnouts at their rallies, as well as the huge participation in the April 5 and April 19 protests against the Trump administration, express the social anger among millions of working people and their desire to fight back. But Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez never indict capitalism as a system or call for a struggle against it. And they supported and hailed the Biden administration even as it was presiding over the greatest-ever accumulation of wealth on the part of the financial aristocracy.
For all their fulminations against the oligarchy, they carefully avoid advancing any demand that would deprive the billionaires of their ill-gotten riches. They pretend that society can be changed without a drastic redistribution of wealth, which requires the expropriation of the billionaires.
Every single democrat, Bernie and AOC included, just gave full-throated support to Biden as he presided over the greatest wealth transfer in history.
The argument is right there in the article.

Tldr: critiquing the system only insofar as to not question capitalism.
An extremely vague and weak document that everyone has just sort of wink wink nod nodded about following earnestly? A document that the two parties have hitherto tactitly agreed not to abuse in the name of precedent and civility? A document that is so flimsy it gets thrown out the window once a demagogue gets elected? One that specifically enshrines the right to enslave people(I know of no other constitution with such a stipulation)?
“No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.”
Even a dumbass like me can see one of the many weakness here. Trump can become president without being elected if he, as VP, succeeds someone to assume the position of POTUS.
You can repeat “smoke and mirrors” as many times as you want. Doesn’t change that the two cops treated me VERY differently. Doesn’t change that one cop gave me an assurance of a plea deal when the other one basically told me I’d be locked up forever. Doesn’t change that one slammed my face into the table when the other got me cool glass of water. Doesn’t change that one lied about my actions and assumed my guilt, and the other took the time to hear me out on my story.
There are so many examples of the cops not treating me the same that there’s no other way to look at your opinion than as ignorant to the extreme.
You’re misunderstanding me. I did not say Biden could’ve appointed more judges. I’m saying Biden could’ve stacked (or “packed”) scotus.
It’s not fair to characterize jellyfin as being unable to scale, and it’s just downright wrong to cast it as being built “for one single local user”.
Jellyfin has great support for setups that include numerous users. The entire dashboard is basically designed around this concept of an admin keeping track of dozens upon dozens of users.
You seem like you have many reservations about specific functions in Jellyfin, but you were vague in explaining thrm - what specific things are you worried about?
