I hear ya.
They’re a product of the machine that raised them.
They all constantly get told to expect the unexpected because one of these days jebus comes back, or one of them is going to be “the leader of a new generation” (vom). And not a damn thing happens aside from a kid getting cured from a headache after 2 hours of hysterical prayer and a painkiller…
Some of them get abused in various forms, most of them are truly holding onto their god thing because the leadership sure ain’t stepping up aside from more catchphrases and “encounter weekends” (or whatever the fuck they come up to waste time). Life is under unbearable tension with a monster of a sky daddy god looking over your shoulder making sure you’re only using it to pee. And keep fighting of all the thoughts 24/7. Especially the empathetic ones.
Deny yourself, and after that deny yourself even harder. I dare you, I double dare you!
(And don’t ask questions, it’s a weird complex book you should know but heart but don’t expect to understand any of it’s hatred love.
All that bottled up hatred has to go somewhere. And it spills out onto the one group they can aim at (because praying against imaginary demons gets old fast)=> all the OTHER people.
And then they act surprised that they don’t fit in with the rest of society.
I know it’s meagre consolidation but let’s be glad you got out of there.

Why tf is all this shit so relatable on here? 😭
