From what I understand, it was a blanket pardon for anyone who met certain criteria, and this judge just happened to meet them.

(Genuine question)
I found it on Know Your Meme: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/pondering-my-orb
That was my first thought too. What’s this orb pondering business everyone’s on about?

If you liked Norsemen, try Lilyhammer.

HandwovenConsensus@lemm.eeto Autism@lemmy.world•Be yourself and be true to who you are. Don't let neurotypical conditioning define your identity.English34·2 years agoI think it’s fine to acknowledge the unfortunate truth that autistic people have to live in a society designed around the needs of people who are unlike them in important ways. Saying so shouldn’t diminish their responsibility to try to function in society as best they can despite this challenge.
To an extent, it’s a matter of perspective. We can easily conceive of a society where the things that “normal” people do are considered alien and jarring. If they had to constantly suppress their fundamental nature the way autistic people do, they might not seem so natural and healthy.
Henry George wrote about this extensively. The solution is a tax on all land at just under 100% of it’s rental value. That allows landlords to profit from the structures they build and maintain, but not from the land itself. It disincentivizes real estate speculation, lowering the cost of land and housing and improving accessibility to people who use it productively.
They’re written differently, but pronounced the same.

But there were a few moments where the Ferengi were shown not to behave consistently with the principles they espoused.
They shouldn’t have had any problem with (Edit: Rom) forming a union, for instance. After all, what’s wrong with a little collusion and price-fixing between the sellers of labor?
I guess some hypocrisy is to be expected in any society.

I vaguely remember seeing a news article about something like that. I think it was a game where killing enemies caused files to be deleted from your computer. It was portrayed as some kind of artistic statement about digital possessions or something.
Someone in the forum where it was being discussed sarcastically said they developed a live action version called “playing baseball inside.”
Yes. If I understand correctly, it’s because the eggs are washed, which strips them of their natural protective coating and causes them to require refrigeration.

HandwovenConsensus@lemm.eeto Daystrom Institute@startrek.website•Episode Analysis | Star Trek: Strange New Worlds | 2x07 “Those Old Scientists”English5·2 years agoSo “Horonium” was once so abundant that it was accessible even with Earth’s limited capabilities in the NX-01 era, but somehow it’s now gone from the entire quadrant? Seems like there must be a story there. I wonder if something like The Burn could have come into play (I never watched DISC past the first season, so I’m going off of hearsay of what that was.) Or possibly it was a material somehow created and scattered all throughout the galaxy at once with a limited lifespan. Given that it powers the time portal, maybe it has some weird temporal properties that made it disappear.

Well, I only know of two off the top of my head, but I really doubt they’re the only examples: Irish and Mandarin Chinese.
I think some Irish don’t even habitually use them when speaking English. If you ask them “Are you ok?” they’d answer “I am” or “I am not.”
