  • Which is strange since we have full size electronic billboards (in WA). I don’t believe they can have scrolling text/animations etcs, but they will change once or twice in the time you can see them at fwy speeds.
They are super repulsive to me because they are more vibrant and attention demanding than traditional printed billboards (especially in low light conditions) and feel like late 90’s pop-up ads.

Also i dont need a ~25m² screen changing in my peripheral vision when im already busy keeping to keep an eye on some dickhead in a lifted ford raptor or Yank Tank who is cutting through traffic.

  • Im no economist but with negative inflation it drives consumers to put off that next purchase.
Why buy the car you have been saving for, or put a bid on a house, upgrade your TV or get replacement running shoes if prices are staying the same or potentially going down? A way to make sure that people spend now and dont put it off is that they know the longer they wait the higher chance that the shoes are going to be $5 more in a months time or two.
If people arent spending then conversely people arent selling, building, labouring, etc and then everything grinds to a halt. People get laid off, people cant pay rent or mortgages, things go to shit.

At least this is the way i understand it, and like i said im no expert.

Honestly why 3d print any tools that are expected to handle significant force, its much more practical to make a hammer out of a sturdy bit of wood and shape a bit of steel to go on the end than it is to print one and expect it not to break the first time you use it. What if the nail is still sticking out and needs to be knocked in again a second or third time? Especially in a country where every hardware store sells hammers and there are hammer club catch ups where you can also get them from other hammer enthusiasts.
The whole 3D printed hammer thing is sensational journalism hyped up over a theoretical issue that really isnt an actual issue.
