Good point that I didn’t consider. I actually don’t know if I have 2 slots. I just took a peek in the glass door and I can’t see well enough without unplugging a bunch. Either way, I’m buying another SSD so I guess I’ll make that call when I open my case to put it in.

Yeah I thought about booting from a flash drive as a test run option but I figured that would not be a very accurate way of gauging what the experience is like. Also, it would keep me from “settling in” with Linux because I wouldn’t want files and stuff on a flash drive, which would make me keep my PC at arms length.

Should I be cleaning them out? Pardon the ignorance. I’ve never owned a window unit before and I won’t have one after this summer.

The 4 basic rules of gun safety:
- Treat every gun as if it’s loaded
- Keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to fire
- Don’t point it at anything you aren’t ok destroying
- Be sure of your target and what’s behind it
More people should know these rules.

At the time, South Carolina was booming. People were moving in from all over the country due to lower housing costs. However, the plant I worked at had a labor shortage at the same time that they had huge demand. We had something like 7 new production lines in various stages of installation all at once. The issue was so acute that we were constantly running overtime and still would have to expedite orders to prevent shutting down the customer. We cancelled the twice-a-year shutdown week several times in a row, deferring needed maintenance. A facility had recently broken ground next door with plans to hire 4000 employees in a couple years.
What did my employer pay the much-needed line operators? $15/hr. For $15 you can work 6 or 7 days per week or you could work at Chick-fil-A. The company was breaking it’s back in order to avoid paying people more. Rather than lowering the workload in any smart way, they just squeezed the people they had harder. I quit for that reason.

I wouldn’t want to get on a highway in one of those. To me, this looks like the closest analog to a kei trucks that would still work in the US.

I’m betting they’re outsourcing the stamping. I’m also betting that they won’t ever deliver a truck.

I also think that isn’t worth it. You’re still letting some rich moron’s actions have too much sway over your mental health. What you’re describing is the most tiny of marginal gains. Her IPs are already dying in relevance. Your energy would be better spent telling people about how cool some other thing is rather than how bad HP is. If someone loves HP and it makes them happy, I see no benefit to raining on their parade.

No stamping? How are you getting away with that? Are they just outsourcing the stamping for frame parts? There’s no way this thing doesn’t require stamped frame components.
Tbh, this feels like vaporware. I’ll believe it when I see them actually being delivered.
JillyB@beehaw.orgto World News@lemmy.ml•Harry Potter creator goes on rant about asexuals for some reason 🤷🏽♂️6·1 month agoI disagree with this take. Buying HP stuff won’t change anything. Not “it will change very little”. It will actually do nothing. If the whole world decided to stop buying anything that gave her money, it wouldn’t change her lifestyle at all. She already made enough money that she never has to consider it for her lifestyle. People might as well enjoy what they like and not have one more thing weighing on their mental health. Let people have their escapism.

Then Harry frees one elf and is considered a hero while the person trying to solve the systemic problems is a whiny bitch. She’s showing how she thinks about the world with that one.
Also the sound in that game is absolutely top tier. It’s very easy to pinpoint a location of a sound, making noise a high priority while moving around.
Even if he gave away nearly all his wealth to help the needy, that doesn’t fix the problem. Ultimately it’s the choice of the rich what to do with their money and most of them won’t choose to give it away. Changing the system is more important than one rich person being generous.
I’m colorblind and the images are nearly identical. Good thing I’m not in tiger habitats very often.
Why would I need to remove the Windows SSD if adding a second? Just to make sure I don’t accidentally overwrite it during install? Is there some other risk I’m not thinking of?
