  • The Heritage Foundation may have planned this governmental takeover better than the techbros. Where they conflict, the Heritage Foundation will likely win.

Odd to side with one fascist organization over another. They both are traitorous, evil burdens on humanity. Placing their profit margins above stability.

That’s what they don’t get. Integrity and morality provide stability to a civilization. Minor deviations can be absorbed, but throwing away any semblance of basic decency and goodness destroys the foundation of civilization.

  • The factory jobs that existed in post-war America would be a vast improvement over the current service economy, but those jobs don’t exist anymore. Union jobs with high pay, benefits, retirement after 20 years, etc. Those are not the factory jobs they’re looking to create.

Factories are mostly automated now anyway. Rebuilding US manufacturing will not only take years but it will be done in a way that minimizes the actual jobs created. They’ll also still have to compete with factories all over the world where the currency is worth much less and the global price of the end product reflects that.

Post-war America had a strong domestic market and middle class that could afford to buy all the things American manufacturing built. Americans are now buying groceries on layaway and waiting for the sickness or car trouble or new Trump policy that makes them homeless.

It looks like there were some negative comments in 2012 and basically nothing since. I hope Leo XIV continues Francis’s strides toward acceptance.

Leo XIV has been solidly pro-workers rights, anti-racism, critical of the Trump administration, and, perhaps most importantly, very supportive of immigrant rights. He is solidly progressive on the vast majority of issues.

We all know that the growing fascist movement will eventually target trans people and gay people for jailing and rendition without due process, but the people they’re actively doing that to right now are immigrants. Having a pope who is a strong ally for immigrant rights is a very good thing.

If this nightmare continues to play out the way the MAGA Nazis want it to, I don’t think a pope who actually cares about human beings and their basic rights would turn a blind eye to abuses to the LGBT community. Let’s all hope for the sake of everyone that it doesn’t come to that.

  • Trump, who was almost certainly unaware of the new pope’s criticisms of him and his immigration policies in the past, sent Leo XIV his well wishes after he was made the head of the Catholic Church.

Imagine having to be the staffer to explain to Trump that the “first ever” American pope that he’s hoping will somehow sign on to his sacrilegious Anti-Christ bullshit is actually going to be the ultimate nightmare for him to deal with.

Pope Francis on steroids. Pope Leo XIV has a record of being pro-workers’ rights. He was the exact right pick for pope to stem the rising fascist tide that’s trying to co-opt religion.

  • Changing CEOs to right the ship is what real companies do, and it can be effective. Tesla is a meme stock. It’s a hype machine designed to overpromise and underdeliver. Tesla is made of smoke and mirrors built around once-promising tech that was subverted for the interests of the VC parasite class.

Even if the board actually makes a move on Musk, they’re going to replace him with another money guy who cuts actual tech to pump up sales and marketing and drives more investing dollars into the black hole.

Granted, the next guy would almost certainly be better for the company than musk, given his mountain of bad press. But if Tesla actually wanted to make a real move, appoint an actual Tesla to run the company instead of another Edison.

  • The billionaire, parasite class is turning against Trump. They wanted lower taxes and less regulation to commit more crimes, not massive global instability. And they definitely didn’t realize how diminished Trump is and the role the adults in the room played in the first administration.

This level of chaos will never be profitable. It only accelerates their plans to retreat to bunkers when everything collapses. That was supposed to be caused by climate change, not unforced errors from a senile president and the clown car administration sound him.

  • The Art of the Deal:

    1. Behave recklessly and make threats to destroy the global economy
    2. Get pushback from allies
    3. Reverse course for allies, but behave even more recklessly against rival
    4. Rival realizes you don’t know what you’re doing
    5. Beg rival to engage
    6. Rival refuses
    7. Take insanely reckless actions toward rival
    8. Rival stands firm
    9. Get told by billionaires that you’re messing with their profits and, as a side note, domestic stability
    10. Reverse course for rivals, look incredibly weak and get exposed for not having a clue what you’re doing on the global stage
    11. ???
    12. Make America Great Again

  • Progressive policies poll through the roof individually. Slapping a label on them, especially anything remotely socialist, kills their popularity.

Appeal to regular people on common sense terms. “We should get paid fairly and be able to afford housing” is obviously correct. You have to sign on to a socialist agenda, read theory, or do literally anything but agree that basic economic justice is a good thing, triggers a backlash.

It’s decades of propaganda rotting people’s brains, but it’s also supreme arrogance on the left thinking they can make anything happen without even trying to get popular support.
