I’m likely in the minority here, but I really enjoyed my time with Anthem.
Since it was shitcanned months after release, there simply was not enough content to keep playing… But what was there always felt special.

Play BotW first. A few years down the line, if you ever want more and are able to make time for it, play TotK. One should not play them back to back anyway.
I played the demo and really liked it at first, as it started out like a Telltalle-style narrative game.
The actual dispatching gameplay loop though, I did not enjoy all that much. It becomes quickly way too frantic for me to enjoy the banter. Plus the actual thing you are looking at and interacting with is a map with glowing icons, i.e. not what I enjoy in video games.
Shame that it will very likely be needed, but good that a company is willing to step up. The GuliKit Hall effect sticks for Switch served me well since I put them in.
I did exactly that with gulikit hall effect parts 2 years ago. It’s surprisingly easy and indeed fixes drift issues once and for all.
On some trackers you can straight up pay to raise to raise your ratio, or even temporarily “freeleech”. This is all kinds of iffy, flirting with the scummy.
Most of the time it’s because client-side anti-cheat is not being well or at all supported on Linux.
For instance Roblox used to run on Linux through launchers such as Grapejuice or Vinegar. However the devs now explicitely block Roblox player on Linux due to a large quantity of cheaters coming from there according to their stats. Since their actual Linux userbase is minuscule compared to other platforms, they just chose go the easy (and probably financially sane) route.
As for Fortnite, it’s all about the ROI baby !
If we only had a few more programmers. It’s the Linux problem. I love the Steam Deck hardware. Valve has done an amazing job there; I wish they would get to tens of millions of users, at which point it would actually make sense to support it.
Don’t get me wrong I love my Steam Deck… But with its mass-market appeal the Switch 2 is going to steamroll over the handheld gaming device market.
As streamlined as it is, the Steam Deck is sometimes finnicky due to it being a PC (which is an amazing thing for tinker-minded folks). Plus it cannot play some of the most popular PC games on the planet (Fortnite, LoL, Roblox, etc).
Windows handhelds are even more niche, because dealing with Windows on handhelds… Man that takes some serious dedication.
I would wager that Nintendo is going to sell at least 20x more units as the whole handheld gaming PCs lineup combined.
I did the fix today, with a small strip of electric tape folded in 2. Hopefully it holds long enough to get to the Steam Deck 2 🤞
I am aware, thanks. I did the whole noisy fan replacement a year ago 😁 https://sh.itjust.works/post/20372232 That worked really well and I am glad I did it.
Thanks for giving me hope for a “light” fix. How long did that hold until your unrelated RMA ?
Maybe if I could find an adequate one, but it’s likely to be expensive and they could as well break it for good.
Do you mean this part [https://www.ifixit.com/en-eu/products/steam-deck-power-button] ? I do not see how this would fix my issue since this does not include the switch, only the plastic button.
I tried it out. The current lack of BLE support excludes a fair number of controllers (Steam Controller, Xbox Series Controller amongst them). Waking with a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller works but getting the controller to properly connect after that is finnicky, oddly enough.
Prince of Persia The Lost Crown looks like a banger, but I am unwilling to spend any amount money on it until Ubi gets the memo and strips Denuvo from it (at least outside of the launch window).
If you do not sign your commits, you deserve to be impersonated. Well, not really, but you get the gi(s)t.
Circuit Superstars runs beautifully on the deck. Do not be fooled by its top down point of view, it actually leans towards simulation rather than arcade (aka “simcade”).
On the other side of that coin, BlazeRush is full on arcade mayhem. It is also top down PoV, which I find lends itself very well to portable gaming.
Yes it seems Bridgy Fed is opt-in for pretty much everything, so using a fediverse account to access bluesky content is not really an option.
Very much worth a watch, this show is pretty unique. It does complete its story arcs, so you will not get frustrated by that if that is your worry.
There was quite a bit of trendy EA-hate. Some of the criticisms were well deserved though. The game was plagued with severe technical issues at launch: the multiplayer was especially busted.
Also the open world map feels much too small when compared to similar games. I remember the disappoint I felt when I realized “oh this is not the first zone, this is THE zone”.
Regardless, I also played Destiny (2) ; while I have to admit it is a better product, I enjoyed Anthem more.
