Why a boomer of all things? O.O
None, really. I’d play Mortal Kombat with my much older sibling as a child and also grew up playing games like Diablo and GTA (the old ones). I really liked Carmageddon and Postal, too. TBH what I enjoyed the most about GTA was stealing cars and driving around in them. XD Or blocking traffic with a bunch of cars.
Panda@lemmy.todayto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is it a bad idea to let my kid's friends rent from me and live in my house?4·9 days agoNot sure how it is over there but in The Netherlands in a situation like that it would be difficult to have them leave because you are not allowed to just kick them out without a very good reason (to protect the tenants). So if there are any problems or you changed your mind (at least here) you’d be stuck with them if they refused to leave.
I think Disco Elysium might be the game you’re looking for!
Panda@lemmy.todayto Open Source@lemmy.ml•The Open-Source Software Saving the Internet From AI Bot Scrapers31·1 month agoI’ve seen this pop up on websites a lot lately. Usually it takes a few seconds to load the website but there have been occasions where it seemed to hang as it was stuck on that screen for minutes and I ended up closing my browser tab because the website just wouldn’t load.
Is this a (known) issue or is it intended to be like this?

Panda@lemmy.todayto Games@lemmy.world•Nintendo Switch 2 is already running custom graphics through exploit one day after launchEnglish1·2 months agoAh that clarifies a lot actually. I do miss the days where I’d go to a store and buy a physical copy of a game. Then again, they do end up taking up (physical) space of course.
Panda@lemmy.todayto Games@lemmy.world•As The Outer Worlds 2 hits $80, director says "we don't set the prices for our games" and wishes "everybody could play" Obsidian's new RPGEnglish1·2 months agoNot sure how it works nowadays, actually! As a child I would borrow PC and PlayStation games from the library. They were physical copies of course. But with Steam keys and all I’m not sure!
Panda@lemmy.todayto Games@lemmy.world•Nintendo Switch 2 is already running custom graphics through exploit one day after launchEnglish0·2 months agoOh so you can’t buy the physical copy of game for Switch 2? That’s lame.
You may need to install steam-devices to get controller support to work.
Panda@lemmy.todayto Linux@lemmy.ml•Linux Mint - NOT "Usable Out of the Box" - Probably switching back to Windows7·6 months agoI use Pop!_OS and have had zero issues getting my Nvidia GPU to work on it, so that or a similar Linux distro that has good Nvidia driver support might be worth checking out.
Panda@lemmy.todayto Free and Open Source Software@beehaw.org•finance management software suggestions5·6 months agoI used to use You Need A Budget and was looking for an open source alternative. I’ve been using Actual since last year and I really like it so far. It has all the features I’d been looking for and is free and open source. It seems to fit your list of requirements as well! I’d highly recommend it!

Panda@lemmy.todayto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What do you host for your finances and why!English27·8 months agoI use Actual. How it works is very similar to YNAB (you budget the money you currently have) but it’s open source and privacy focused. I started using it a few months ago and I really like it so far!
I did hear about that but never had any issues myself.
I use Jetbrains Rider on Linux which runs just fine. It takes some setting up to install .NET but it didn’t take me too long. Except for pre-release versions, that might take more trial and error.
Overall I’m pretty satisfied with the switch to Linux and I haven’t had any major issues. Not with video games, either. Protondb.com is a good website to see what games do and don’t work on Linux and you may need to add launch options to get specific games to work or switch to a specific version of Proton.
It’s up to you to decide if it’s worth it for you or not. You could try a dual boot setup first.
Is it, though? Because if the billionaires had all that money but only themselves and their billionaire friends on team billionaire, how powerful would they actually be (in comparison to, say, now) if they didn’t have any non billionaires on their side?
I think they’re this powerful right now because there are a lot of non-billionaires who are dumb enough to do whatever they’re told by them even if it’s not in their own best interest (or the rest of the world’s) at all.
