Just from DMing perspective I feel this when my players decide to fight a NPC they weren’t supposed to fight at a level I don’t have a block for lol. “Well your options are cr3 and cr10 and you’re level 7 so…10 it is and imma just shave some stuff off while hoping for the best” lol. Shout-out to every time my party says they’re looking for shady people to circumvent the legal way to do something then balk when the pricetag isn’t a handshake and an IOU their reputation proceeds them will never be collected.

Last week of 1997 I think (got a computer programmable barbie for xmas and somehow my older sister took this as “time to put her on the internet” lol). First thing she did was sign me up for AOL chat then put me in a “kid friendly” chat room (think there was a suggested list or smtg). Ended up being a roleplaying animals chat and…well it wasn’t just kids in there lol. Half of us were just typing “turns into a panda and rolls around” and others were typing “bear sits at bar and winks at panda”. We quickly exited that and she searched me a cat facts site and left me to it.

With the new found power of search I started looking up where we were blocked in whatever the current Tomb Raider was which led me to fanfic porn which led me to what’s 69 which actually led me to a couple different groups of older people who were very chill and “you shouldn’t be here”, but also gave me a lot of advice on sex ed (which was appreciated, my mom’s period talk was vague and conducted like I was in a war now lmao), keeping private on the internet and what’s an inappropriate conversation someone’s trying to have with me, saying no and I don’t have to talk to anyone who’s making me uncomfortable. Also taught me how to download music and safe practices. So thanks “perverts” of the 90s, I appreciated learning what reverse cowgirl was, no means no and how to download music for free so I could stop tape recording my favorites off the radio lol.

I generally start with a pre-written adventure and then just run it sandbox living world style. If I do anything it’s a ton of researching random DND lore and working that in.

Echoing move to SNW. It has a higher budget than older Trek and follows the current trend of “mini-series” storytelling. Older Trek follows older TV rules (wanted 26 eps to a season so a lot of filler to make it so). DS9 would be my other rec with a heavy caveat that if you’re not feeling an ep skip it and look it up on memory alpha later, particularly for the first season. As it goes on it gets more into the long form storytelling you’d expect with today’s shows, but first few seasons can be a bit rough and there can be a long time between plots being revisited (but when they are they make it count). TNG, Voyager and TOS are mainly monster/problem of the week (Voyager kind of weakly straddles longform and episodic leaning heavily towards episodic). Out of them I’d recommend TNG outside of the first two seasons (first season is TOS scifi tales encore, second season I actually like a lot and has some good eps, but general like is a minority opinion and cast gets retooled in third season anyway).

If you don’t mind kids shows also recommend Prodigy (kinda like a Trek ATLA imo).

Not sure which party, but I’ve been getting the same notice in the mail every ~3 days with this message and my voting record listed all the way back to 2016 for the past two weeks. Honestly not sure if it’s an attempt to intimidate me to vote a certain way because it sure is going beyond “people will know if you voted” to kind of insinuating they’ll know who I vote for. Fail point is I don’t know acronyms for political groups so I’m not sure which one they’re trying to get me to vote for lol

I would expect a lay article to absolutely define these things. If nothing else, gets their word count up so the author can be paid more and helps the lay person understand what they’re reading about, win-win. I know Reuters is more of a gives the mere basics so other news sources can pick it up and write more encompassing listicles site though so I’m not gonna have greater expectations for them here. Thought the time honored tradition was switching to another channel to watch another show’s opener so you’d know what was going on when you switched there during commercial breaks. Just my family?

I kind of assume if they have plans for him it’s a young Kirk spinoff. If they wanted him to stick around I feel like they wouldn’t have closed down the relationship with La’an so forcibly if that makes sense.

If there’s going to be more voyager characters I really hope Neelix gets a cameo for an episode. I’d love to see him back in the kitchen with Jankom taste testing lol
