Rewards? Oh yeah, less money in my pocket and price increases every few months? Sounds way more convenient than ublock and revanced. Rather pay with my money for an ad-free experience and line the pockets of a rich corporation. My time is too valuable to compile revanced once every few weeks!

DISGUSTING! Sweep it under the rug and spout opinions as facts!

It surprises me how many brave-heads ignore Vivaldi’s existence. It’s just a better Brave. No crypto BS and lots of poweruser features.
Because adblocking is free and if done right not detectable. I haven’t had a single issue with ublock on youtube.
I used to pay for premium but they keep upping their prices. At this point ublock on computers + revanced on phone is best way to go. Premium features without paying a cent.
Pat@kbin.runto Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Once a pirate, always a pirate2·2 years agoThis isn’t as much of a meme as it’s a commentary on the state of the media industry. Even when my disposable income was great enough for me to subscribe to multiple services, piracy is just so damn easy and convenient that I’d rather pirate everything I want and have it all on my own streaming server (jellyfin) and be able to watch everything in one place, instead of having multiple services with hardly any worthwhile content. Having to scroll through hundreds of movies and shows I have no interest in to find the handful of things worth watching, spread across multiple services and apps, is nothing but a headache. Plus, even if I pay for a subscription, they up their prices on a regular basis.
This is no meme, this is a statement that the only real way to enjoy media without headaches is piracy. This has always been the case and always will be.
Pat@kbin.runto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Youtube is allowing Youtubers to advertise their merch even for premium users11·2 years agoI use revanced. None of youtube’s changes upsets me because I know within hours/days they’ll be patched out.
I know all the private alternatives are useful, but using the google ecosystem directly without dealing with their money grubbing schemes feels like nice way of saying “suck it”

Pat@kbin.runto Science@beehaw.org•People don't like if they find out a friend used AI to help craft a message to them, a new study suggests. But they are equally upset if their friend had writing help from another person32·2 years agoIf I’m talking to a friend I want them to be themselves and genuine. Having someone else compose a message for them, AI or human, invades my privacy and tells me that they don’t want me to see who they genuinely are. Talk to me like you normally do. Don’t paraphrase everything you want to say through a third party. We’re not strangers, there’s no need for everything to be professional. I’m friends with YOU, and I’m talking to YOU. Don’t pretend to be someone you aren’t.
To me this is less about AI vs Human, it’s just the fact the friend isn’t being genuine.
Both Sludge Life games. A bit unconventional but I found a lot of spots in the games where I would just stand there and take in the various scenes going on. Both games can be beaten fairly quick but it took me hours to get through them because I kept stopping to just take in everything going on.

Archive.today works with more sites, such as NYT.
If you’re using the official F-Droid app, I recommend you check out Droid-ify. It’s more modern looking and faster, and along with the F-Droid repositories, it comes with the IzzyOnDroid repo preinstalled.
Recently was looking for an rclone app and ended up finding Round Sync. It’s a fork of RCX that’s still being updated. They’ve made connecting to google drive and other services much easier.
Having a similar problem on endeavour os. When I try to sleep or hibernate it gives it a shot but I get a quick flash of a message about a device preventing sleep. Nothing plugged into the laptop, no fancy built in accessories.
Should be using AdNauseam by default imo. Based on uBlock but also clicks on every ad to cost advertisers money for wasted clicks.
Pat@kbin.runto World News@lemmy.ml•It's Official, Say NOAA and NASA: This June Was the Hottest Ever Recorded on Earth142·2 years ago100 companies have contributed over 70% of greenhouse gas emissions. Only 100.
Do you really think that an average joe can make a difference? The blame doesn’t lay on ordinary people. Us polluting is a byproduct of corporations polluting.
Pat@kbin.runto World News@lemmy.ml•It's Official, Say NOAA and NASA: This June Was the Hottest Ever Recorded on Earth36·2 years agoI wish news would stop saying the broad term human activity and more accurately say corporate activity.
Yes, the general population contributes to climate change, but the real polluters are the big companies manufacturing things, big oil, etc. They don’t care about what they’re doing and lobby govt’s to put the blame on the citizens.
