Because limiting Federal power has been the theme of the US since the beginning. The founders were so afraid of it going the way of monarchy that they didn’t see the consequences this could have back then. Not arguing for or against that, just stating the “why” since you asked.

This seems to be correct. Sudan, surprisingly does offer paid leave however other countries in Africa, like Zambia, do not offer paid but do offer unpaid (like the US on a Federal level). Map is, indeed, worthless.

Colorado has 12 weeks paid to both. But, once again someone doesn’t understand state sovereignty in the US and just clumps a together as one unit. 🤦🏼♂️
It’s amazing that you can post that in a Windows community and get RAILED since they have their heads so buried in the sand they can’t see how good these machines actually are.
Glad you’ve noticed.

Every who’s gotten out of the military recently that I’ve talked to from all different backgrounds all say the same thing, war with China is inevitable and the timeline has been moved up to 2027 from 2030. The US will not allow them to take Taiwan, too much at stake. Doubtful we’ll initiate.

Like, you have no idea how cheap this is relatively in computer history and it’s in your pocket and always on.

That’s a good angle I hadn’t considered.
I grew up on the east coast and the power would go out almost every storm thanks to blown transformers.
I moved to Colorado 18 years ago and I’ve had 2 outages since. 1 was planned maintenance we were given plenty of warning of and the other was because a vehicle hit a ground transformer and took it out, power was restored the same day. They’re eons ahead of anywhere with lines still on poles. Everything gets buried here on build out. It’s freaking great.
Bury your lines east coast!

QuarterSwede@lemmy.worldto Apple@lemmy.world•Do you use anker MagSafe products? How are they?4·5 months agoNever tried any Anker Qi2 devices (their Qi1 sucks since it’s not magnetic). However, I do have the Belkin MagSafe charger with the built in stand and I love it for Standby. Very solid and as reliable as Apple’s own Magsafe puck.
This is why you never listen to the naysayers. Kudos to Mr Hwang.
