This is so unrealistic. No American would say 40 meters.
Oh no I have really liked his work in the past. I’m out of the loop, what did he do?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you seen that Robin Williams movie "One Hour Photo?" If so...

23·2 个月前I was working a photo lab when this movie came out and corporate was alarmed because it was bad publicity. We had talking points to reassure customers regarding privacy etc.
Many people are saying there is something wrong with his mitochondria.
With a lot of parasites, when they die the tissue around them calcifies (just your body’s response). That’s what we are seeing on the radiograph.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What form of entertainment, movie, music, tv, video game etc that you were excited about only after it came out did you realize it was trash?
1·4 个月前It’s kind of good to hear this. I LOVED Twilight Princess but missed out on Skyward Sword because life got really hectic. Glad I didn’t really miss out from what it sounds like.

5·4 个月前In general this was my experience as well. There is one important exception for me which was Google Earth. Being able to sit in a chair and drag a huge model of the earth beneath me and view distant places like I was a bird is just magnificent. Doesn’t make me motion sickness the way most games do.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is there an actor you can't stand? Do they have any exceptions?
11·4 个月前This is the one I came here for. Really don’t care for him. Only exception I make is Edge of Tomorrow which is great. Maybe because his character starts as an entitled ass which feels natural.

Though it occurs to me that she was speaking with an American accent though so I’m not sure of saying she should pronounce it the British way.

5·5 个月前I’ve played it for about 6 hours and so far it’s kind of meh. I’ll admit I’ve not made it to the full in deep desert with PVP and so forth so my opinion still might change. But the early game is kind of slow for my tastes and the script writing / story is just senseless video game tripe.
Also a side note is that so far the voice acting for the story stuff is pretty bad overall. My favorite so far was when you’re exploring a shipwreck and find a voice log from the crash and the speaker identifies herself as Ensign whoever. But she mispronounces ensign as “en-sine” which made me do this:

Totally agree. I only got it to play with friends who are into it but was hoping it would be good. The story / cutscenes are so incredibly cheesy to me. It’s almost a parody but the joke never quite lands.
Neurotypical here and yeah my brain often works this way and I believe it does for many others. What’s missing in this vignette are social skills from both parties.
Abruptly shifting topics like that often works better in a conversation with some sort of segue or acknowledgment of the shift: “This is off of that topic but I have a random question.”
The second party could reasonably be confused but when the thought process was explained to them they could have just accepted it and moved on without being denigrating.
So they both just need better social skills is all that I see.

35·7 个月前If I had to guess, there are probably some valuable natural resources under the ice that are going to become more accessible with global warming. It’s a resource grab. Same thing as trying to get Ukraine’s minerals.
Edit: Yep I should have searched before I replied.

Linux@programming.dev•Tails 6.15 Update Drops Support for Legacy Broadcom Wi-Fi Chips
6·7 个月前Moreover, Tails 6.15 removes firmware blobs for Broadcom’s aging BCM4301 and BCM4306 Wi-Fi chipsets. The project believes machines carrying those radios are already too old to boot current Tails images; nevertheless, users who see their wireless interface disappear are encouraged to report back.

Linux@lemmy.ml•I have used Windows all my life, and I have some questions.
4·8 个月前I’m using an RTX 5800 with Nobara and although I can game fine I get multiple graphical bugs in the desktop (parts of windows not fully rendering, flashing artifacts when moving windows, and aliasing artifacts around fonts (yes I’m running the correct resolution). So Ulrich is right, it’s absolutely a problem even on newer hardware too.
I have a Samsung fridge and the app is the same - it demands always-on precise location or it refuses to function.
Absolutely. Fucking. Not.
It’s a covering for a finger, kind of like cutting the finger out of a latex/nitrile glove. It looks just like a tiny condom made to fit on a finger.

Freaking finally! When the emails dropped I skimmed through a bunch of them myself and the big thing I took away was “Holy Hell why are there so many with Steve Bannon and nobody is talking about this?” Maybe it got some mentions here and there that he was in there but it seemed like a HUGE volume to me like they were bff. Glad to see someone reporting on this.
