Wii fit trainer?
It has very little to connect with even if you do play minecraft. If you watch youtubers play minecraft, on the other hand, it’s probably perfect.
It’s basically a gen Alpha (maybe Z at a stretch) cringe comedy movie more than a minecraft movie. That’s mostly just the setting.
Lots of things cause harm while also doing good things. It’s a balance.
The problem is when that balance skews more one way than another.
Itch is less a storefront, or even a social site, and more a developer playground. And real competition is no holds barred, bar-room brawl, knock-out drag-out free-for-all. People think “oh, if we just let people compete, everything will work out splendidly”. But the truth is, the strong will always overshadow and overpower the weak with “real competition”. It’s not fair play and love is the truest standard, it’s king of the fucking mountain. And whoever has the biggest wallet is often the biggest winner. That doesn’t mean Steam, or even Itch or GoG, that means Microsoft and Epic and EA. That means the bullies win.
No one really wants that, they just want a pipe dream that can never exist.
If it could be argued that it’s close to the difference in percentage Steam takes vs. other storefronts, I’d have a hard time saying it was unjustified
Don’t they take roughly the same as any other storefront, aside from Epic? And Epic mostly just does it as a marketing tactic, rather than to act in some way ethically.
Sometimes people have ideas that just don’t work out. Even if the same people make another game, unless they just make a carbon copy they’re going to try and do something different. Sometimes it doesn’t work as well as the original, but at least it’s not churning out the same thing over and over and hoping people don’t notice.
Granted, Gamefreak has basically been doing that for 25 years, so what do I know?
There’s different types of microfiber cloths. The ones you’re thinking of are generally used for cleaning glasses or phone screens. There’s others that have a more carpety texture that are often used for dusting or cleaning larger objects.
The point of this exercise is to say “ha-ha gotcha, I’m so clever neener neener” while everyone else rolls their eyes.
I believe the temperatures within the chart are “feels like” temperatures rather than absolute temperatures. The X axis shows absolute values (what would likely show on the thermostat).
At OPs original temperature (91°F) the danger zone would be around 60-70% and higher. At OPs last updated temperature (94°F), the danger zone would be 55% or higher.
Much as I’m sure it’s a quality entertaining game, with games as popular as Minecraft… the only thing that can kill it is collapsing under its own weight.
But why? Just calling things dumb, or stupid, or idiotic without any explanation is just a grade school way of saying “I don’t like a thing”. Without seeking a way to understand, and thus overcome it, it’s always just going to be “I’m smart and they’re dumb”, which is often the argument of those you’d criticize of “inherent stupidity”.
I would say the opposite. At least for the basis of this train of thought. That maliciousness makes one single-minded in their ideals and goals, which inevitably devolves into “Get mine, fuck them”. Which is inherently destructive, both for the person in question and those around them.
Math.
People keep trying to attribute maliciousness to stupidity as well. Mostly because it’s easier to dismiss stupidity than argue against it.
He’s shortsighted, narcissistic, and petty. But he doesn’t do things just to prove how much of a big idiot he is. Dismissing everything he does as “idiocy” just gives him more leash to piss on everyone from.
Not that I have any kind of high opinion of Epic, but isn’t Unreal a pretty standard game engine for lots of big games?
Seems a little overboard for some kind of friendly conversation, especially when it had nothing to do with my general point. I was just stating that I wasn’t comfortable with marketing in general. The implication being from large corporations.
As I’ve never taken an intro to business course, as I’m not interested in that aspect of hyper-capitalism that entails, I just go on the general context of the thread and general sentiment. Not a super-literal definition given in your community college.
The hyperbole seems to be all yours, you’ve taken a statement I used to lead into the general topic of my comment and somehow built an entire personality out of to assign to me.
I’m not comfortable with marketing. That is my personal opinion. I know lots of other people have other opinions. Some people are neutral, they don’t give a shit. Others seem to think of it as completely and utterly necessary in every degree of society. They’re allowed that, I have no power nor will to take that from them.
Is that why Jimmy Savile was given a free pass to diddle kids until after he died?
I’m perfectly fine without those, yeah. Though you seem to be taking my meaning to a more extreme degree than was inferred.
For the first part, why he doesn’t have a formal education: Nog is living on a space station with his uncle and father. Not in a Ferengi society. The Uncle doesn’t want to shell out for an education for the kid cause he’s Ferengi and doesn’t want to pay for things, and the father just goes along because he’s kind of a doormat. There’s not enough opportunity for job-shadowing that allows Nog to learn from a Ferengi mentor that’s capable of teaching such things as literacy, so he remains ignorant. Also explains why he gets into so much trouble (aside from the bad influence of his uncle), as he has too much free time from lack of mentorship.
He also shows that he’s very hard working when he applies himself. So, in addition to tutoring from Jake and probably Keiko, he just buckles down and does the work. Especially when he gets to the academy. He specifies in “Homefront” (Or “Paradise Lost”, I don’t remember exactly) that he’s doing all right at the Academy. Not excelling, so he’s struggling. Probably not the least of which is because he’s behind in education as compared to his classmates.
