abobla@lemm.eeOPto Steam Deck@sopuli.xyz•Steam Deck sales still going strong over three years later8·15 days agoI’m not gonna lie, I was hyped since the announcement, and the love for this device hasn’t died down.
I’m not a big gamer nor do I play on portable consoles, but the idea of an accessible portable console running a linux distro was amazing to me.

This comment seems interesting, it was first question that popped into my head:
abobla@lemm.eeto Linux@lemmy.ml•I tried Debian, I tried Fedora for my Lenovo Legion 5 Pro RTX3060: Framerate issues, stuttering in browsers, stuttering in simple 3D programs4·22 days agoThat’s odd, I remember using Debian 12 without this issue when it was released, I later switched to an Arch based distro (Endeavour OS) to experiment with how it would run games (they ran better, I think some games were freezing on Debian 12 stable).
I can’t say anything about Fedora, never used it.
Do you have more information about the specific driver you installed on Debian 12 and Fedora 42? Like the version number? Maybe the neofetch result of your computer specs too.
Sorry for not being able to give more details.

abobla@lemm.eeto Jerboa@lemmy.ml•Anyone knows when generic search will be implemented in Jerboa ?4·2 months agoAs far as I know, the lemmy devs are focusing on releasing the 1.0.0 backend (currently it’s 0.19.10). This seems to be a huge change by itself, which will need jerboa to support the 1.0.0 before implementing the general search.
The general search seems to work differently from it’s 0.19.10 version, so developing a general search now would cause a re-work to be done once the 1.0.0 is released.
is this scheduled for the next release? Or does it still need to be developed?
makes sense, I thought they had a lot of new things to release. Thanks for the info.
I’m not a professional video editor, I only use it for basic stuff, seems pretty good and solid to me.

I think the mods should at least update the community’s rules to justify their removal of some comments.
I recently asked about open source keyboards here. Some people mentioned a keyboard that (as far as I know) isn’t open source, but it was mentioned a lot for some reason. There are a lot of comments removed by the moderation, I don’t know if this is the best approach.
Maybe the mods should at least leave an explanation in the comments saying: “please do not recommend closed source software”, so that users don’t scratch their heads thinking “why are there 26 removed comments by the moderation?”
