Check out the old Galaxy W Series
I personally find Java easier in the sense you have to get things done with pretty simple tools, while C# you have 10 different options for a problem.
Also makes it easier when looking at other people’s code since everyone uses the same basic tools.
Unless Apple starts kneecapping their regular bar phones or comes in with a better price I don’t expect them selling better than the Samsung Foldables in terms of bar phone vs foldable share.
You have been able to do this on Android for a while using Termux, Proot Distro and VSCode Server. I even did it once to host two Angular Frontends on Android to free up Memory form my main latop running the backend.
Since its using YT Music in the background, its not 100% reliable. Youtube changes small stuff on their site and API from time to time which breaks these Apps. Happens once every couple of weeks. Just be aware of that!
Guess we are making Motorboat engines now
Its not. I’m writing this on a Note 8 with Android 9. It can run 99% of Apps on the Playstore, has an up to date browser and even gets access to new features like Google Lens, Gemini or Quickshare. Would it be nice to have Android 14? Yes. Does it need Android 14? eh not really.
Now watch that drive
She was a lua girl, he was every other programming language guy. It was not ment to happen.
They have gone about this in a really stupid way. Instead of doing this exclusivity shit, they could have made games 10% cheaper for the enduser across the board.
Also their launcher sucks
With a romanian license plate
people with AMGs and BMW Ms drive that on the autobahn.
Safari is just way better integrated in the System and its not like Firefox on iOS is the real firefox. Its webkit with a Firefox skin.
Marketing and availablity. Unless you watch Phonereviews you probably have no idea these phones exist.
no I don’t
Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation. If I understand it correctly, there is no way to really prevent these Apps from “running” in the background, although “running” just means they sit idle in memory 99.9% of time and don’t do anything unless a broadcast event they are subscribed to gets fired and then they are permitted to do small task.
So I guess the most likely issue is that either something else on the phone is causing this drain or that some App constantly gets restarted (which is expensive) for some reason instead of just staying idle in memory.
thanks, I will give the work profile route a try since I’m not aware of any ways to root my phone (LG G8X)
