Anecdotal evidence, but when both my wife and I participate in a VoIP call from the same device, the codec carries my wife’s voice much more poorly than mine, and she has to repeat her words way more often. I vaguely remember hearing the same issue in calls with female colleagues.

You can, they are not built in but bundled
They work without it though
I keep seeing complaints from non JavaScript developers about their IDE not handling millions of files in a folder properly

Do they though? I had a feeling that RCS works through the carrier, that’s why a carrier needs to support RCS for it to work.
A matter of preference, really. Each side can sneer at another.
