Ketata Mohamed@mastodon.tnto Linux@programming.dev•Linux Foundation endorses Chromium, SteamOS ISO is coming Linux & Open Source news1·6 months ago@arendjr @possiblylinux127 eh, in reality, The reason we are seeing a lot of security vulnerabilities is because:
A: it is the most used OS in the world, hackers & pirates… have 100 reasons to pirate winlol, for example imagine having 1 B$ worth of games on your storage drive, everyone would be killing to even have a sniff
B: it gives the feeling of the thrill of challenge when you decide to tweak, because it is close-sourced so it by default enables a few tweaks, all can be corrected

Ketata Mohamed@mastodon.tnto Linux@programming.dev•What do I want to see in the Linux ecosystem in 2025?8·7 months ago@bleistift2 @addie Wayland will be the only display server, it’s impossible to deny it, for example KDE defaults to Wayland & Gnome is 100% detached from X11, the deletion of X11 is coming in the future
plus, X11 is full of spaghetti code and no one, and I mean no one, supports it anymore, Wayland came to correct that, plus if you have a laptop with a hybrid GPU, you must switch manually between for example Nvidia & Intel, on Wayland everything is done automatically, etc
Ketata Mohamed@mastodon.tnto Linux@programming.dev•I Don't See a Reason to Switch to Windows from Linux Anymore in 20254·7 months ago@naonintendois @craigcorbin catching up? From what I heard, Linux surpassed winlol in gaming for certain titles, but yes, if you take the average, there’s still a gap, and it’s becoming smaller and smaller
Ketata Mohamed@mastodon.tnto Linux@programming.dev•I switched back to Windows (and my experience going back after a few months of Linux)3·7 months ago@lazynooblet @the16bitgamer me too for a google email (@esprit.tn), I used it on YT mainly, I used it on other things but YT is the main user, & I subscribed with it for some youtubers, after some time, the uni deleted the mailbox so they also deleted the YT account, meaning those youtubers lost a subscriber, meaning they receive less money, and that falls to the uni, the uni is to blame not me 🤣
Ketata Mohamed@mastodon.tnto Linux@programming.dev•Valve’s plan to bring SteamOS to more devices is a promising sign if you want to stop gaming on Windows2·7 months ago@hanke @DV8 Valve is highly unlikely to put a kernel-level anticheat that bans Linux users but as a piece of advice, don’t run competitive multiplayer games on Linux, I mean do not get accustomed to, that also should apply to me since I play Palworld which is MP only, even on SP, you can have someone join at any time
Ketata Mohamed@mastodon.tnto Linux@programming.dev•Asahi Linux’s bespoke GPU driver is running Windows games on Apple Silicon Macs1·9 months ago@jeremyparker at least, I am very well developed into Linux gaming, I am not a competitive gamer, so I am in more than a good place, luckily I am already not a fan of the incompatible games like Space Marines 2
But I can only contribute by using, testing & posting on forums, I can’t code well even if my life depended on it
Ketata Mohamed@mastodon.tnto Linux@programming.dev•Asahi Linux’s bespoke GPU driver is running Windows games on Apple Silicon Macs1·9 months ago@jeremyparker @lemmee_in BTW I made the first blow, I was a m$ fanboy from 1994 to 2019, then they made winlol 11 & I realized that lying was in their blood, so I have been using Linux since 2019 coupled with winlol, in 2022 I used only Linux-machine but yesterday I had to have winlol also, damn Gigabyte with their winlol-only support

Ketata Mohamed@mastodon.tnto Linux@programming.dev•rust-fp: Fingerprint library, dbus interface, CLI, and PAM module for unlocking Linux with fingerprint sensors.1·10 months ago@boredsquirrel over LAN*
It already exists & has many apps for winlol like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ro.andreimircius.remotefingerauth and already had an app for Linux but it died, got removed from the play store
I will try KDE Connect as soon as my WiFi gets fixed
Ketata Mohamed@mastodon.tnto Linux@programming.dev•rust-fp: Fingerprint library, dbus interface, CLI, and PAM module for unlocking Linux with fingerprint sensors.0·10 months ago@boredsquirrel can you use the phone’s fingerprint sensor?
I think that there’s an app for that but Open-source means choice

@Successful_Try543 @cyborganism @thelinuxEXP IDK if this is what we look for but it surely helps, we are looking for an official client, well, this is as close as it can get

@Corbin @GolfNovemberUniform and logically & scientifically, the BigBang was impossible to have happened without an outside trigger, and guess who/what were able to ignite that
