Maybe you did. Maybe you didn’t. Do you control the source code? What if these “disabled” toggles are placebo and the “if” statement in the code doesn’t exist and it just always gobbles up your data? What a naive way to think.

Will you be doing great when all your activity and gets leaked in screenshot form from windows recall, and all your activity is logged via your mandatory online account tied to your PC?
Microsoft hand has been played and that’s the direction windows is going. It’s practically here.
Ooo that’s me. I used to run arch (BTW), but last time I went Manjaro. I installed it like 4 years ago though and way too old and lazy to distro hop anymore

yeehaw@lemmy.cato Games@lemmy.world•What people miss about Steam Deck's "loss" to NintendoEnglish17·5 days agoWhat I like about the deck is I bought it and I instantly already owned >1000 games for it where a good majority of those are playable out of the box.
So ya, I ain’t paying $120 CAD per game. Fuck that.
Also my controllers basically all work for it so I don’t need to buy these overpriced joycons again for a new system.
Already have webcams if I cared for a silly camera that streams at 2FPS.
It’s unfortunate that theres been a lot more attention for optimization from some developers for the switch 2 though, not much we can do about that. Some games I own the deck is screaming and barely handling it and apparently the switch 2 runs it no problem.

Samsung’s got too much of their own shit data harvesting crap on top of the Google stuff. All other phones basically have shit cameras. Time to go to iPhone? Seems they’re all the same at this point 😜
Might start bringing a sharpy with me everywhere to cover them all up.
What are YouTube ads?

yeehaw@lemmy.cato Nintendo@lemmy.world•Nintendo Switch 2 owners are ripping apart their new Joy-Cons in record time to check the stick drift situationEnglish4·11 days agoHad mine since 2019 and my main joycons I usually use and I played the shit out of it until I got my steam deck. All 3 sets I have, still have zero stick drift.
Like I played it A LOT so maybe my version of a lot is not the same as those with stick drift?

Edit: What where the CPUs on the 2015 computers you upgraded?
No idea, I touch so many computers in a day I don’t keep track. I just know the release dates of the machines and surprised how many from 2015-2020 were actually OK with installing windows 11.
I think you underestimate how many computers that are in use today that can’t be updated to Windows 11.
Nah, do you mean like those windows xp ones that banks use, or windows 7 ones that governments use, etc? Those are obviously in a category of their own.
So, what is this if not Microsoft now forcing people to buy new hardware, if they have unsupported hardware?
There’s an obvious answer to this, even if many may not like it, but switch. Switch to a Mac or install Linux on your machine. It’s generally a bad idea to stay in a relationship with someone who treats you poorly, so…

So frustrating. I’ve installed it on a few PCs to access remote desktop services and I can’t figure out how. The old app says to use Windows app as it’s going EoL. Ok. But how? Looks like it’s meant to connect to windows 365 only … or ik a total idiot.
Didn’t spotdl cease to work a long time ago? Maybe I’m confusing it, I used to use some AUR package which I thought was called that, then the API thing happened and it ceased to function so I gave up on it.
I use arch BTW.
I think you should cruise this guy’s channel:

He’s very fair and uses all operating systems. I’m almost certain he’s had a video on this exact question.
That was a wild read. USA is so fucked up rn
