Nintendo owns the handheld market and now that they’ve made a handheld their only platform there’s no way they’re going back to traditional consoles, especially not after the original Switch sold a gazilion units with the same form-factor as the new one but with a hardware 10x weaker. The higher prices are a risky gamble but their profit margins have never been this high so they probaby don’t even care if the Switch 2 doesn’t sell nearly as much as its predecessor.

I realized I couldn’t think of a single green mammal so I DDG’d it and it’s true. In a nutshell, the pigments that give mammals their colors are limited to warm colors (so no blue or green) and you could also fake a green color by reflecting mostly just green light off you (it’s how birds do it) but it seems to be something only feathers and scales are good at, not fur.
I really hope it does the manga justice. It would be a tragedy if people ended up dismissing this series because of a subpar anime adaptation.

I really hope it’s all been archived somewhere so it can be put back into the records after these nuts are no longer in power.

There should be a way to see the content from different communities with the same name but from different instances in the same page, like some sort of automatic multireddit. The content would probably be limited to instances federated with your home instance but even then it’s something I would like to have.
deus@lemmy.worldto politics @lemmy.world•Bill to ban mRNA vaccines passes out of House committee32·5 months agoHere’s the quote, for those like me who had never heard of it:
"I have a foreboding of an America in my children’s or grandchildren’s time – when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what’s true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness…
The dumbing down of American is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30 second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance."

Huh, TIL. Here’s the Wiki page about it, for anyone curious.
This was originally just a map of the Great Lakes system. Someone added Baikal and Titicaca to it later for comparison.
I do not envy any insect going into battle against ants. Do the ladybugs even stand a chance?

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Pikmin 4, Street Fighter 6, Alan Wake 2, The Talos Principle 2, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, Final Fantasy XVI, Hi-Fi Rush, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Lies of P, Pizza Tower, most of these would win GOTY if they had come out this year instead.
Degrees? While using Kelvin?? OP is a phony!
ConcernedApe comes to mind. I think he has actually said that a big reason why he made his game is so people would listen to his music.

What a clown. It will never happen but I would love to see Brazil slapping retaliatory tariffs on American imports like China did.
