Most contemporary python tools like flask or uvicorn do exactly this and require an explicit entry point

I used to be very opinionated about programming languages but now I just really love all of them.

Sure some might not be the best tool for some jobs but maintaining a language is insane and just such a mind-blowing endevour.

Tbh reserving “main” is just a hacky if not more so than checking __name__ if you actually understand language design.

tbh I see a philosophical problem of separating markup from programming. Creating object structures be it in Latex or html is essentially the same thing as creating code objects. Most high level programming is more about structures and “placing things around” than people like to admit and that’s 90% of all programming today.

Writing html is absolute programming in 99% of the cases. You program the structure of a web page, even more so if you use templating or integrate structure with js functionality.

Seriously consider buying another one almost every day and the only thing that is stopping me is lack of free time. Wife and I usually co-op (or just play concurrently) on switch and deck but deck is really making switch redundant.

Key skill is to be able to communicate your problem and requirements which turns out to be really hard.

Tailscale is awesome. Alternatively if you’re more technically inclined you can make your own wireguard tailscale and all you need is to get a static IP for your home network. Wireguard will always be safer than each individual service.
