Heinous country. Imagine being such a horrible place that you mistreat the ones that feed you.
Heinous country. Imagine being such a horrible place that you mistreat the ones that feed you.
If this is the mentality you’re gonna approach this situation with, you’re cooked. The demented orange asshole is already building a dictatorship and democrats barely give a shit. “Fearing the consequences” isn’t something they do because there are no consequences as we’ve seen multiple times. You gotta make them fear for their lives. And you gotta give people a real alternative to the oligarchy that is the US.
You’re already living under fascism at this point. You just haven’t woken up yet, because they didn’t get to your door. Yet. The sooner you wake up the better.
This is just them preparing the launchpad for further mass surveillance programs. First, they’ll poke around with innocent sounding programs, testing the waters to see how much data they can sniff out of different private databases without anyone noticing. They’ll claim it’s for the good of autistic people. They’ll enact legislation to further cement their practices of data gathering. If their proof of concept turns out to be delivering results, they’ll keep going.
Slowly they’ll keep tracking all kinds of people they deem as “ill”. They’ll start with vilified minorities that can’t fight back. Most likely trans people. Then the rest of the queer community. Of course, they’ll claim there’s no ill intent in gathering this data, after all, it’s not like they’re going to commit any vile acts.
And slowly but surely, once the public debate around these minorities turns even more sour, you’ll have them enacting all kinds of laws, and these databases will prove to be quite handy tools in aiding their goals.
As he should be. All billionaires should be afraid.
Only stochastic terrorism. A nazi salute here and there. Spreading some racism and queerphobia every now and then. Opening the sewer gates to let in all the nazis on his social media platform. Exploiting some labour in the third world for his personal gain. Buying out politicians and the press in the detriment of the people.
Other than that, yeah, he hasn’t done anything harmful.
Soon they’ll start building freedom camps around these cities and will fill them up with the millions of incarcerated Americans so they can work towards freedom. As Germans have put it before, work makes you free.
The EU is way too liberal to seize his assets. This will never happen. They’ll gladly bow down to the US hegemony and the US fascist regime before they lift a finger. We’ll just hear a bunch of strong words of condemnation (if we even hear anything at all lol) and that’s about it.
Liberal newspaper never disappoint in aiding fascism.
Oh the paradox of the third party. They’re too weak to make a dent, but also the root of all evil. This sounds like fascism to me.
If they’re so harmless, then why do you care if a very small portion of the electorate votes for them? After all it won’t make a dent, right? :)
If they make such a big dent that the democratic party needs to run smear campaigns against them, then how come they’re so harmless and underrepresented?
To me it looks like you have a dysfunctional system. They are popular enough to be voted by a huge chunk of the electorate, thus hurting the big legacy parties, but your system is built in such a way that they end up being underrepresented at the national level.
Because people are clearly unhappy with the democratic party, so there’s obviously a market for it. People that would’ve otherwise stayed home instead of voting for the democrats now have a voice. That’s what democracy looks like, at least in most European countries that is. It’s fairly normal to see smaller parties pop up that better represent a subsection of the electorate than to see huge monolithic parties that try to encompass everything.
Why don’t democrats invest in actually bringing people to their movement instead of wasting their time on shitting on 3rd parties? Let people vote who they want to vote for, and who they feel voices their opinions the best. That’s what democracy is at the end of the day.
Then I guess y’all should starting reworking how your system works, because it doesn’t sound like a democracy at all if you can’t vote for what you actually believe in.
Look, if people feel very strongly about something, let them voice their opinion on it through a vote, as intended. That’s what democracy is for. If your democracy doesn’t work and always makes you vote strategically, making you disregard your own positions as a voter, then maybe your democracy isn’t really a democracy and you should start working on that. A strategically cast vote won’t magically repair your broken system. Anyway, compromises are for political parties and politicians, not for the average voter that just wants to voice their opinion.
Because y’all claim to live in a democracy, so let people voice their opinions as votes.
EDIT: Lmao, look at the downvoted. HOW DARE PEOPLE VOTE FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT I WANT
I’m honestly so confused as to why people care. I honestly barely notice the difference
Better access to tools like ebpf and xdp.
Dangling the carrot of civil rights in front of minorities just so he can get reelected… it’s sad, but it is what it is.
That too. I wonder what legal authority the military even has over civilians. Where I come from the military has absolutely no authority, except in times of war and when it comes to protecting the outer borders of the country.
I’m talking about these “farmers” mistreating their workers, exploiting undocumented immigrants, and so on.
