Cool! I’ll subscribe. I’ve got about a dozen projects I’d like to build with Ollama, if I’ll get the motivation and free time who knows?

Jonathan@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Am I the only one who thinks social media has destroyed the spirit of the internet?6·4 days agoExactly. The algorithm is literally designed to stop people from thinking about what they actually care about. Of course that has caused deterioration of every aspect of human society to some degree.
Jonathan@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Am I the only one who thinks social media has destroyed the spirit of the internet?7·4 days agoThe algorithm(s) and “For You” pages I think have done more damage to my ideal internet than anything else ever has.
I have a feeling that someday in the future we’ll also see that the algorithm was also responsible for damage to the human mind and society as well.
Wow, I haven’t seen that in like two decades!
Clutch is one of those bands that I can always rely on, always true to the rock & roll. I’ve seen them around two dozen times over the course of almost 3 decades and they never disappoint. And Neil Fallon is my absolute favorite lyricist. The way he weaves words is like candy for my lexophile brain, especially from the album Robot Hive/Exodus.
I was diagnosed with with ADD in 1992 at 12 years old, and again by a different doctor at 16, but it was the 90s and “we all had ADD!”, at least that’s what I told myself for the following two and a half decades. I basically gaslit myself into completely dismissing the diagnosis from two separate doctors several years apart. Of course, I also struggled with basically every aspect of what I would have considered “normal life” all the while. I mean, barely able to exist in the Normal World ™ and always wondering why the hell I couldn’t just “get my shit together”.
Well, spoiler, it was the ADHD. The incredible thing is, I know about a dozen other people my age who all have the same story as mine. We made a joke of it all and ended up really screwing ourselves over as the punchline.
Thanks for the tip! I haven’t heard of that and I’ve been looking for something to keep track of this stuff as well.
What’s the issue with Autism Speaks? I know I saw something negative about it a while back, but I never read into it. I haven’t been keeping up with much negative shit lately because there’s too much negative shit to keep up with.
Jonathan@lemmy.worldto Star Trek Social Club@startrek.website•Star trek clothing lineEnglish3·3 months agoMy partner and I have been ogling much of their wares for the last year or so. I could easily spend $3,000 on the website (you know, if I had $3,000 to blow on clothes).
I had forgotten about doing that myself. I did that on a couple servers once the distros had full 64 bit builds. Does that technically count as an architecture swap in-place as well?
“Medium: Same as easy but go from the derivative to the base.”
I can’t quite recall, but I think I did exactly that with Ubuntu -> Debian once upon a time. I think Ubuntu was only a year or so old though, so there wasn’t a huge amount of divergence back then. As a bonus anecdote I also attempted a semi-successful build of Gentoo on a PPC Mac around the same time (nothing before or after that has compared in its level of nightmare).
Fix regression with saving states of user queries
Awesome, I’m really glad that’s finally fixed. That issue made my use of FreshRSS almost pointless.

Although I’m in the process of switching to Jellyfin I think. I have it running separately to sort of evaluate it. Jellyfin was a fork of Emby, so there are a lot of similarities.
Jonathan@lemmy.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Jellyfin is not just good... but *better* than Plex now?!English4·4 months agoI’ve had Infuse Pro for about 6 years and it has been an absolutely perfect app for me. I’ve used it across many different iterations of home media servers (Emby, Jellyfin, NFS, SMB, etc…)
If you use Apple devices it’s the best way to go.

Already setup! I think the first thing I want to do is setup retrieval augmented generation. Several of my hobby ideas will require it I think. Started trying to read up on it a couple days ago and I had a serious lack of focus going on.
I’ve been kind of hoping to come across a super simple way to implement it, but haven’t exactly looked much yet.
