For self hosting there is also https://forgejo.org/ which is a fork of https://about.gitea.com/ , the latter of which started to shift to a corporate model.

Fun bit for the west tip of Maryland, that’s a resort area so lots of people from NOVA, DC, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, etc… have vacation homes there, greatly inflating the median home price.
