Hardware RAID is dead.

They’re vendor and often model locked to a particular make or model of card (so if your card goes bust, so does your array, where software options you can migrate the entire machine to a completely new one, as long as the disks are good so is your data)

ZFS wants access to individual disks anyway
Check which raid card your Dell shipped with, if it’s a PERC H200 or H310, you can flash it to IT mode to make it work as a plain HBA. If it’s a PERC 700, you’re SOL on IT mode. I’m pretty sure it can expose vdrives, but that’s probably more trouble than getting a cheap HBA at that point.

3·5 days agoModding community will never allow it, when Nexus allowed people to keep downloading old mods a bunch of authors decried it since they wanted the ability to remove a mod from the internet forever. It was ‘theirs’ (even though it’s just modified Bethesda data)
Guybrush would be proud.
My first takeaway opening the box was WTF is going on with the speaker grille/fan intake?
Every phone/tablet has dust/waterproofing mesh, it’s standard. Everyone puts in on the inside layer of the device with the meatier grille outside it, so the mesh doesn’t get scuffed up or cut.
Nintendo had to think different and put the mesh on the outside. Good luck to the handheld players, luckily mine will live in a dock for eternity.
Is glass exploding even that much of a problem?
Dropping an iPad doesn’t even break the screen all the time and when it does it’s garbled.
Fear is a hell of a drug.
First gen switches were broken through the connector for the joycons. Now it’s wrapped in 3 layers of plastic when live.

Did you all forget that Sony has been selling games at US$80 since 2020?
I buy mostly indies now, usually on gog or itch too.
But sometimes on steam if it’s multiplayer.
