  • It’s a shame it’s gone the way it has. I feel he’s been fairly consistent for the past 1/2 seasons. Not a standout by any means and he’s been forced to play out of position at times due to injuries/suspensions.

I would be nice not to have it constantly hanging around the club like a bad smell. I was trying to find an update on his case. I could only really find articles from around early Jan 2025 stating that evidence had been submitted for review to the crown prosecution.

  • Looks like Jamie Gittens is prioritising a Chelskie move. Are clubs still allowed to make those crazy 10 year contracts? It seems like a mistake to me since you would have minimal bargaining power for a wage increase.

There’s also the potential he could get lost in their bottomless system, like Kepa or Chilwell or Joao Felix or Broja or any of the other 50 players who are under contract with Chelsea. Just fucking hell… I imagine they’ll try flog off some of those players in the transfer window.

I also missed the news about Mudryk being suspended for doping. He’s been charged now.

  • I suppose it’s beneficial for the comp it was a draw. If Al Ahly loses, then it kinda shows the gap in quality between the two sides and the comp is a bit of a ham-fisted, money generating sham. If Inter Miami loses, then Messi and co. Got showed up and the comp is a bit of a ham-fisted, money-generating sham. /tinfoilhat

I’m not sure what the skill/quality difference is between Inter Milan and Al Ahly, but I guess I’m not surprised the game was a bit of a dud. Shit way to kick off the comp though if it’s something you were interested in.

  • I can see where he’s coming from. We all want the best for our club and his words have some merit. It feels pretty damning that our last trophy was an FA cup 4-5 years ago and the likes of cheslkie and Spurs have claimed some form of silverware (albeit they had an easy time of it).

But, it’s been a tough road since Arteta took over that I think has navigated really well. Look how much manager turn over other clubs have had with similar issues. How many pundits have compared the success of Arsenal under Arteta to that of United, Chelsea, Spurs, etc.

It’s largely because of City being the behemoth they were that we missed out on the PL trophy twice. We have also been our own worst enemy at times for sure.

If anything, I feel like the club maybe let Arteta down and not financed the players we needed to remain competitive over an entire season. But, we also don’t know how much is the club and how much is Arteta only wanting to bring in a specific type of player and not just jumping on any horse out of the stable.
