When Leeto got bored of the Duncans and didn’t use his prescience. Don’t mind me been listening to the Dune series for the umpteenth time again. Just the core ones of course.

Stimulant, dexedrine is what worked for me. At one point I tried a number others and they didn’t seem to work the same, even Adderall wasn’t the same but I know it’s very similar. Know Vyvanse was another, but know there were a couple other I don’t recall. First one was Ritilan but that gave me hives which took me a bit to register why they were happening, well two days but easy enough since it was the new thing.
I didn’t get diagnosed until I was just under 30, medication has done wonders for myself since. I don’t think my parents had a clue, I was quite smart, if I had medication in my school days I can only wonder what I may have achieved, but I’m a university dropout. Doing okay but I do wonder sometimes.
Processing any shaders…every load time. I guess the upside of spending too much on hardware it doesn’t take as long as it could. I definitely ignored Hogwarts Legacy some game evenings cause it did that every time I played, it went away recently though and oddly I finished after being able to play right away.
One of the one games I’ve finished in like 3 years, which I assume is also an add thing, I don’t finish a lot, just try and get my entertainment value and hope for the best after. Currently not wanting to lock into the last mission of cyberpunk 2077 heh.
As long as it took me to really comprehend the rate of change thing and understand how calculus is that, until I read that sentence I didn’t think of all the gravity parts impacting a stellar body and velocity in a direction being impacted by multiple forces. Mean I always knew the story of Newton inventing calculus for that but never clicked exactly how it related. The sad thing is it’s a sort of thing I pondered a bit on but never quite made the connection.
Well we can’t assume we know physics completely yet (or within bounds of the question) something down the road may open an idea or ability to generate more power than we know what to do with. If this was a game we may only been on the first or second step of a technology tree. Or we just aren’t able to travel that far realistically, we have to overcome our idea of our species being singular and send out generation ships that go for ages (in human time) to explore more as a species, even if the originators (Earth humans) may never know the outcome.
Of course if we discover that much power we’d likely annihilate ourselves anyways, least with our current society.
I do mostly agree but I try and think of other possibilities since the universe is so vast.
orbitz@lemmy.cato Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Cox charges you $25 if your credit card is declinedEnglish2·2 months agoWhat if I’ve been paying for years without incident? There’s a thing where I can do autopay for mobile (Canada) where it’s $10 off the bill. I always hate the idea of autopay but they’ve never overcharged a bill…so far. By years I mean it’s been over a decade now.
Mostly curious if your stance still says no to this situation as well. I’ll guess yes, but still it’s $10 a month so adds up to almost a fast food meal these days lol.
For no perks I definitely agree, I pay my crap on time and takes like 5 mins a month to pay online.
orbitz@lemmy.cato Technology@beehaw.org•Wait, why is the White House using Starlink to ‘improve Wi-Fi’?4·2 months agoThere are so many better options to whatever they said, like there are so many better options for a properly run government. These days I just assume this is how the the US people (as a whole, I know many do not want this) want their government run, which is troubling but expected nowadays, unfortunately.
Recently bought a bunch of courses on music theory…why? Cause I bought cubase and figured I needed to understand how to make things sound good together. Plus I’ve always loved music and it seemed like a mystery in my knowledge. Now spent more time learning music theory than in the program. It’s a fun process. Just hope the fun doesn’t run out…though been awhile in the making so to say, so maybe ‘this’ one will stay. heh.
orbitz@lemmy.cato Technology@beehaw.org•What interesting can I do with a dedicated GPU?2·3 months agoI bought a course from udemy to learn it, helps cause you can follow along in an organized order. I actually haven’t touched it much since but it was fun to go through. Just make sure to buy their courses on sale if you do, otherwise they can get pretty pricey.
The great one was Sega vs Nintendo, this was a sequel. A noticeable and impactful war but not the ‘great’ one.
That’s why I started figuring out beginner courses / tutorials to figure out if I could grasp the basics on something. Though I’m a bit older, so maybe it comes down to being old and not wanting to waste as much time. Least if I don’t do good, I learned something. Did some blender one the other year to figure out some 3d modeling, was fun, then got distracted and haven’t touched it since. Was neat to understand the graphics side of things though.
Hope there’s a sea minus minus somewhere for whomever that was.
As a kid I saw it as an arrow pointing, it points to the small number. That’s how I remembered it. I can now understand it ‘facing’ the big number but it was never pointing any direction other than the point, which is to the smaller one. Now I understand it eats the bigger one but it took awhile to see it as anything but an arrow point, if they drew them with teeth I’d have understood the eating better as a kid but I don’t think any teacher did that. I never had trouble understanding overall so wasn’t an issue.
Eventually you realize you forget almost as much as you learn, it’s like a bilge pump in a sinking boat. Then you focus on what you want to remember and come to acceptance with that.

orbitz@lemmy.cato World News@lemmy.ml•Mexico suggests it would impose its own tariffs to retaliate against any Trump tariffs2·6 months agoWhat is he supposed to do? I mean there’s lots but in relation to tarrifs from the US? Should he just ask if the US wants Canada to be a part of the US to avoid them? I also thought that came out before all the tariff articles so assumed it was because an election was coming up anyways. Not that I’m saying it’s a bad thing to propose in general, it sounded like it’ll help some of the lower income people which is a win in my books.
orbitz@lemmy.cato politics @lemmy.world•MAGA meltdown as Trump begs men: get off the couch and vote19·7 months agoHah the team behind the guy running who says he’s a billionaire, backed by the other billionaire, is complaining that Democrats have all the money in the race. Like are you wealthy or not? (I’m pretty sure that’s obvious at this point) Is there a personal limit a person can spend on their own campaign? If so I take back half the laughs till later.
Every accusation… etc etc. I’m sure the being that pretends to be a human as Cruz is just melding into the Republican patterns.
I hate even waiting for the stores to open, then 10 mins before it’s worth getting ready to go I’m all antsy and then end up being the first person at the store. To be fair I wake up at 4am most of the time so not really early for me.
