pexavc@lemmy.worldto Programming@programming.dev•Tabs are objectively better than spaces - gomakethings.com4·2 years agoYeah. It is depressing.
I’ve always wanted an accessibility feature that uses haptic feedback to mimic braille patterns for reading purposes too.
In general a lot of creative stuff can be done if we focused on it even a tiny bit more.
pexavc@lemmy.worldto Open Source@lemmy.ml•Making something for everyone is so much more work than making something just for yourself2·2 years agoI’ve been attempting to build systems to make this “robustness” redundant across all my works, but I always feel there’s something more that I missed. I can’t tell if this task is simply never-ending or I just lack the knowledge of covering all the dots from the get-go or both.

. https://github.com/ivRodriguezCA/RE-iOS-Apps . I would think applying a sort of comparison of the static analysis with a published app against the compiled repos version would be a possible first step
Actually am looking at this exact thing. Compiling them into an open source package to use on Swift. Just finished nsfw. But everything you mentioned should be in a “ModerationKit” as well. Allowing users to toggle based on their needs.
Yeah. Have been thinking of this exact scenario. How to create solutions around anything that might “filter” while respecting the worldviews of all. I feel the best approach so far, is if filters are to be implemented. It should never be a 1 all be all and should always be “a toggle”. Ultimately respecting the user’s freedom of choice while providing the best quality equipment to utilize effectively when needed
pexavc@lemmy.worldto Rust@programming.dev•If you feel that you need a Rust replacement for 'ls', that apparently exists1·2 years agoFrom your experience have you felt these people had researched their reasonings for the rewrites extensively prior. Or did they discover these improvements along the way sort of, simply an off shoot of simply being a hobby when wanting to build their tooling to define existing flows/actions
Typora is really cool, wish it was OS though. Although the one-time purchase isn’t too bad
Yeah, have been using text editor mainly for markdown editing or other lightweight WYSIWYG apps, it’s good enough. Felt, there could be more out there that I am missing out on which I am unaware of.
Haven’t thought of this yet, thanks
Essentially what I was thinking,
Is an IDE like environment just for markdown file management and WYSIWYG editing experience
I could have posed the question better. But, I haven’t found one that served my needs yet. Nor do I not know of one that may have interesting features that would make it easier to do things, like maybe adding shields/badges/assets within automatically or being able to create a directory like structure by generating new MD files when wanting to create a comprehensive API doc.

pexavc@lemmy.worldto Open Source@lemmy.ml•IPFS, why haven't we seen video streaming services?2·2 years agoI have been mapping out a possible way to do this. Pickling and scattering frames across the network, coupled with a client that stitches and buffers into a video. Whereas the manifest for each frame hash is compiled and stored separately.
I feel such a service is definitely possible. As for consumer/product worthiness I feel the other comments kind of covers the variables as to why you probably haven’t found a strong solution yet to streaming.
I definitely feel it is growing or at least it’s still in active development. I feel a lot of people either haven’t grasped it yet (aside from the NFT craze) or are not fond of the process of deleting content stored onto the network. Also a true real-time experience would require some more research on latency.

I am thinking of a cadence for an update every Friday (including tomorrow). And can address any you find, will provide hotfixes too so “Friday” is just more of a stable constant.

pexavc@lemmy.worldOPto Experienced Devs@programming.dev•Why is the search functionality on sites like Reddit, really low quality?English1·2 years agoTrue, it would seem though, Google tackles a more complex problem, while Reddit or the like deals with its own specific data that has a predefined format that they know of.
Looking at what other users clicked on after doing similar searches.
Yeah, I feel Reddit just doesn’t account for these things, because requires way more work maybe to add as weights, if I am thinking of it correctly
My saves are getting monopolized by your memes 😂
