I’ve tried something similar - but usb sticks (i.e. flash memory) have limitations, when transferring larger amounts of data (images, video) it takes forever to write and it is no good experience. also the small form factor keys tend to overheat and become abysmally slow (esp. sandisk ultra fit are practically unusable).
maybe an old ssd in a $10 external case is a better option, even if it’s not as compact

it’s similar with amazon/booking - if you use their share button, you get a neater shortened url but tracking is baked in. but you can still just copy the url from the browser search bar instead (which, acknowledged, might particularly not work well for IG)
this seems overengineered to me - it’s easy enough to have fully automated builds, deployments and releases already. you can even have ai sketch your github actions or similar config. anything beyond that is simply a downgrade or reinventing the wheel. a git commit hook might be just enough
