Tried it immediately and it worked! However, then everything went blurry and in a fever dream state I cleaned my whole house till 3:30am…

I’m not too familiar with those. Top of my head reaction to Googling them just now is that I can’t stop feeling there’s something a little sneaky about them. “What? these totally normal looking yet suspiciously thick sunglasses? No no no… I’m totally not filming you right now”.

I think if it’s a VR contraption then it needs to be honest about it which is why the Beyond 2 seem to be going in the right direction. I just re-watched a review of the B2 and saw that it only weighs 110g (less than a peach) which is so much less than the Apple Vision Pro at 600g. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on how the VR industry decides to compete with the B2.

VR will never become mass market until it no longer means wearing a big silly looking thing on your head. Source: Used to work for a game developer who tried (and like so many… failed) to make their own headset during the VR goldrush in the 90’s. Also around that time bought a Forte VFX (screaming headache and eyestrain) headset and can’t believe no one’s managed to shrink the technology down to a pair a glasses yet in any kind of successful way. Kind of excited by the Bigscreen Beyond 2 though. Still a long way to go. I think the test is simple. Can I wear your VR technology out in public (so no wires, tiny form factor, battery life on par with a smartphone) and not look like I want to be robbed immediately?

I find that my short term memory is directly connected to how inconvenient it would be to forget. It feels like my brain is basically trolling me “Ahaaa… you wanted to remember this didn’t you! Well, how about I block the memory and give you a vague sense of unease instead? Don’t worry, the minute you don’t need this information anymore, I’ll give it back to you” (laughs in Disney villain).

So true! The worst part is that I can be blissfully unaware that I hate someone but then something reminds me of them and my brain goes “Whelp… time to speed load every single feeling about this person in the next 5 seconds”.

Absolutely, I have a board for work and one for home. I use the work one a lot more though. I’m also very visual so to be able to add a picture of someone’s face or the bit of the house I need to work on really makes it stand out.

I just use 6 lists and I grab and move cards along them from left to right. My lists are very simple:

I only use 2 automation rules. One rule to move new cards to the top of the list I created them in and a second rule to automatically move cards along the last 3 lists depending on how long they’ve been there.

It’s been life changing for me. I don’t get side-tracked anymore cos I can just dump whatever it is into one of the lists on my pc or my phone. It’s also really helpful that I can put a “Due by:” date that gradually changes from yellow to red as the deadline approaches.

Trello 100% fixed that for me. Also, as someone who NEEDS my little dopamine reward whenever I do a task I found a little trick. If you put the 🎉 (party horn emoji) in the title of a list it blows a bunch of confetti over the screen whenever you drag a task into that list 😁

I hung around their Discord for ages and the pace of development seemed glacial. It’s not that I don’t think it will ever come out but it’s definitely going to be a while. Gave up following after a few months. Love the aesthetic though and I really hope this one doesn’t fizzle out like other titles in my wish list (Road Diner Simulator, B-17 Squadron, Solarpunk, Kerbal Space Program 2 etc.)

Trump claiming he won regardless and trying to create as much trouble as possible is the most likely election outcome. I’m not getting my hopes up until President Kamala Harris is in the Whitehouse having a nice cup of tea. In fact after the last few years I’m not getting my hopes up about anything ever again unless there’s absolute proof that it’s real.

I’m always in awe of people who can draw :) I love that AI gave me a way to experiment that I never would have otherwise. I have other gifts mind you but sadly drawing isn’t one of them.

Well I can’t draw is the issue. I used Copilot to make the panels and then fiddled around with them to make the cartoon. That’s why it’s not signed cos I’m not trying to say I’m clever or anything lol. It was just a cool experiment that helped me explore some ADHD related ideas.
