Attacking civili society is a hallmark of authoritarian regimes — and the House, including some Democrats, just gave Trump the power to do it.

The provision previously enjoyed bipartisan backing but steadily lost Democratic support in the aftermath of Trump’s election earlier this month.

Dems were fine with it until it was likely to be used in the exact way it was intended.

How soon before NPR and PBS are “terrorist” organizations? I wish I was joking.

They’ll brand the DSA and socialists like Hasan as terrorists first. Then once they have purged the country of leftist leadership and leftist organizations then they will come for left leaning groups like NPR if and only if NPR refuses to bend the knee.

Morning Joe from MSNBC has already bent the knee. More will follow once Trump makes an example out of his critics.

Hasan is already a terrorist sympathizer, he’ll be called a terrorist and then suddenly agree with his critics that he isn’t really involved in politics lol

Keeping your eye on the ball…suppose Schumer did bring the House bill to the floor. Suppose also, that by some quirk it passed. How long do you think it would take Biden to Veto it? I’d say 30 seconds max.

You really think Biden will step in to protect the rights of people protesting Israel’s genocide of Palestinians, the one he has been facilitating for more than a year? Biden who takes significant amounts of money from pro-Israel organizations and has consistently sent Israel weapons throughout its attack on Gaza? Trump and Biden are pretty much aligned when it comes to supporting the genocide and wanting to silence the protestors, although their methods may differ.

This is such a hilariously fantastic view of who Biden is. Like with pretending that abusing people with Blue MAGA rhetoric was going to win an election, you do elicit this choice at all of our peril.

Biden isn’t on your side. Neither are the Democrats.

They could be. If we take a deep breath and collectively decide to tell the collective political establishment as it stands to fuck off, we CAN make change. On a side note: This is also how you fight fascism.
